On Friday I rode my still mostly-stock bike from Austin to Houston, where a guy I had never met before (only conversed with via the CC&D forum) helped me work on my bike.
Modifications completed:
- Installed DG Hard-Krome Strippers exhaust pipes
- Installed Kuryakyn Hypercharger
- Re-jetted the carbs — used 130 Mikuni jets and shimmed the stock needles (using 2 #4 washers), and re-set the mix screws 3.5 turns.
- Disabled the AIS
What a difference in performance and sound — much more throttle response, and you can really hear her roar now when I roll on that throttle. These little short, straight pipes are LOUD.
Next on the Mods list: slam the rear end, extend the forks, modify the seat (lower), bolt on some drag bars, and add some Lindbar highway bars.
UPDATE: I added two more accessories to my bike during the Republic of Texas Biker Rally:

Nice bike… would like to hear her sometime.
