The 2006 ACL Fest lineup is out.
It looks like the fest organizers have decided to show case a few more Austin local acts this year, which I’m pleased with. All-in-all, a pretty interesting lineup this year.
Acts I’ll make a point to watch this year:
- Aimee Mann
- Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals
- Kasey Chambers
- Los Lonely Boys
- The Shins
- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
- Trish Murphy
- Van Morrison
- Willie Nelson — It’s good to see Austin’s most famous musician finally playing the biggest local music festival.
Van Morrison, Tom Petty, and Willie Nelson? All in the same weekend? Outstanding!
Gone from this year’s list of performers that I’ve looked forward to seeing each year: Patty Griffin and Robert Earl Keen. But, since they’re both local artist, I have plenty of opportunites to see them the rest of the year.
