Texas Lottery officials announced that a Houston resident claimed their $64 million lottery prize this week:
The winner of the $64 million Lotto Texas jackpot ticket bought in Houston for the Feb. 8 drawing has claimed the prize money.
Texas lottery officials on Thursday said the jackpot will be paid to the trust of a unnamed individual.
The ticket purchaser’s identity was withheld at their request.
The cash value option paid more than $39 million before taxes.
FEBRUARY 8th? That’s more than 3 months ago…
I mean, I know you should take some time before you claim such a huge amount of money (a lump sum of about $25 million after taxes) — but three months? Does it really take 3 months to hire a lawyer and set up a trust?
