Murdered while home on leave
Chief Petty Officer Kameron Pratt (34) was home in Dallas enjoying two weeks’ leave during his fourth overseas tour of duty in the last four years — the latest in the Middle East aboard the USS George Washington.
CPO Pratt survived four over seas tours. But with just three days left before he was to return to duty, he was murdered during a senseless carjacking:
…an unidentified carjacker shot him after dragging him from his pickup at his parents’ home in Dallas’ Red Bird area.
Mr. Pratt stumbled to the porch of the home, where his family has lived for about 30 years.
It was there, in a manicured neighborhood where some folks still leave their doors unlocked at night, that his older brother, Keanon Pratt, found him semiconscious.
Keanon Pratt said he dialed 911. He performed CPR. He cradled his brother.
Kameron Pratt tried to speak. But blood pooling in his mouth prevented it. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to the hospital.
And minutes later, he died.
I can’t tell you how sick this makes me. This man wasn’t killed by the enemy while wearing his uniform…instead he was gunned down by two sick animals whose freedom CPO Pratt had devoted his life to defending.
Tomorrow morning, the Patriot Guard Riders will join the Pratt family, their friends, and their community to bury this brave sailor.
Today, the Dallas PD arrested two men — Itar Elan Kissentaner, 26, and Michael Dewayne Walton, 34 — for the murder of Pratt.
Both men had previously been sentenced to 15 years in prison for various crimes. Mr. Walton was released in December 2004 after serving his full sentence for sex assault, three robberies, assault and stealing a car. Mr. Kissentaner was given parole in August 2004 for a robbery conviction.
The two will be charged with Capital Murder, which carries the death penalty in Texas. Lethal injection is way too good for these two subhuman thugs. Instead, they should be sent to Iraq in CPO Pratt’s place. Just drop them off with nothing but the clothes on their backs somewhere in the middle of Fallujah.
The crimes were so sickening, that even Pratt’s mother wants these guys dead:
Mrs. Pratt said the death of her son has made her rethink her stance on lethal injection.
“My pastor says I shouldn’t believe in the death penalty – and I never have,” she said. After a beat, she continued. “But as of this day, as of this hour, may God have mercy on their souls.”

Keelhaul the both of them. Do it on the George Washington. If they make it past the props, then ship them to Iraq. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate. Chief going ashore.
I live up here in D/FW and when I saw this it made me physically sick. I am just glad these animals were caught and I agree with you…lethal injection is WAY too good for them. A patriot killed over some rims…he even offered his keys with no resistance…they just killed him in cold blood.
BiTCH FUK U iTAR KiSSENTANER MUH GOOD DAM UKlCE N hE DiDNT KiLL NO fUKiN bODY SO SHUT dA fUK UP
Itar did NOT do this. Many innocent men go to prison for crimes they did not commit. I pray that the truth will come out and that God’s will prevails. I also pray for the Pratt family for the loss of their family member. God can provide the peace that surpasses all understanding.
THANK U 4 YOUR SUPPORT 4 iTAR KiSSENTANER iM HiS NiECE
So tell us, CMM, how do you know that Itar didn’t do it, or wasn’t involved in this murder?
It’s not like he’s a choirboy with a clean record. The guy’s been convicted before of robbery. And the guy that Itar sold the tires to led them right back to Itar and Elan.
Let me guess…Itar bought them from the real killers, right? I’m sure Itar is a friend of family member of your’s, and your too shocked to face the facts — your boy is a cold blooded murderer. And I hope his veins are filled full of a lethal dose of drugs before too much longer.
I pray for a quick trial, a quick appeal, and a quick execution.
My Dad Michael Walton did not commit this crime the only crime he ever commited was meeting Itar Kissentanner. And yes he was convicted in the past but he served and did all of his time. I just get really angry when i see comments like this that people write because they just judge people because of their backgrounds and stuff. All i know is that when the trial comes the truth will come out to the light, because everything always comes out the light, especially of something horrible like this here. I give my consolations to the Pratt family because even though i still have my dad i feel like that little girl because my dad is being taken away also, and this time for something he didn’t commit.
NAW THiS HiS NiECE MiSS AARYN N NAW iT WAS A CRiME 4 MUH UNClE MEETiNG YO dADDY ShiD SO GET iT RiTE YO dADDY WAS THE SHOOTER MUH UNClE WAS JUST SO SO GET iT STR8 SWEETiE N COME CORRECT
You should learn how to type correctly and stop using capital letters when their not needed.
Ok Ms.KeKe you on here acting like your dad had nothing to do with it.I mean he should have been at home instead of out riding messing with people. I mean he might not have been the person who did the actual shooting but he was still involved. He had plenty of time to go to the police and explain his part in the situation. but did he? NO!..Now i do think charging him with Capital Murder is wrong but he should be chargedwith something.Hell i think they all should >:o
Well, this news should B 2 your liking, Robbie.Earlier today, Mr. Kissantaner received a verdict of 50 yrs.I know a lot of U sought
Execution, but, hey, we can’t win ‘em all, huh.Haven’t gotten word on
on Mr. Walton, yet.I’m sure he’ll incur a worse fate, though.I’ll say 1 thing about Mr. Kissentaner: Even if he’s not guilty of the charge,
he is definitely guilty of a young LIFETIME’S worth of a terrible
judgment of character/decisions.They didn’t have any concrete
evidence against him & his Key Witness failed 2 show, but, hey WHO CARES, right.Well… there ya’ go… drink & B merry, every1.3 cheers
4 our Judicial System!!!!
I was a shipmate of Kameron Pratt on the George Washington, in the Stock Control Division where we were both Storekeepers. He was the last workmate I saw before I retired in March of 2005. We were in the shipyard at the time and on my last day he was on the same shuttle from the ship to the parking garage and gave me a hug, totally disregarding the Navy’s policy on public dispays of affection.
Pratt (as he will always be remembered by me because this is the Navy way, to refer to your shipmates by their last names) was a good man. He was one of the first people to talk to me when I reported to the ship in January of 2003. He loved R&B and his dogs. He did his job well and was respected by his co-workers. He loved his family and spoke of them often. He was kind to everyone. He loved to work out and was quick to encourage others to find relief from the monontony of sea duty in physical exercise. He went to church every Sunday. He was excited about the birth of his daughter.
I have many good memories of Pratt, that I will always cherish and try to keep foremost in my heart. I pray for his family, especially his mother and father, and his daughter who will never know her father. They will always be in my thoughts.
To the men who did this crime, I do not feel so charitable. I feel whatever the judicial system in Texas levelled upon them is deserved and I urge them to look within their hearts and make peace with their God. They took the life of a man who would have served whatever community he lived in well and with respect for others. Pratt was the kind of man who would have taken troubled young men off the street and into the gym and shown them a better life, a life worth living.
I knew itar since the 7th grade he was always something he had no business and believe it or not was a very smart dude in class he just always wanted to be tough I don’t know if he pulled the trigger or not but he does deserve what they gave him that’s a comstock and spruce high school student for you pleasant grove we got to do better
TO: NTChamps
why are you so sure that Mr.Walton will incur a worst fate?
Hey Derrick, you ever hear of a . or a ,. I’m sure that was some fine Texas school you and Itar attended. They are guilty, guilty, guilty.
I knew Itar.He and i had planned to be together when he got out of prison .I don’t know how he was growing up, but the Itar i did grow to know and love ain’t the person i see here.He said to me,”i will never come here again,i have done alot of growing up”.I don’t know if he did this but i feel for the families!Remember there ain’t just one family who is hurt here there’s three.(i hold all of the families in my prayers).God bless you all!
THANK U SO MUCH iTAR iS MY UNClE!
I went to elementary school at St. Elizabeth’s with Kameron. He was a sweet, quiet boy with a sweet, shy smile. We’re all adults and we make choices. Kameron didn’t choose this. The lowlife, degenerate, thugs took away his choice. They CHOSE to carjack Kameron. They CHOSE to be involved, regardless of who actually did the shooting and who did the driving. I think 50 years is far too generous. I hope they get sodomized and beaten mercilessly in prison… though I’d rather see them shot and left to bleed to death. Ridiculous. What a terrible waste of a wonderful life. Rest in peace Kameron, we love you!
Hm..i know michael and i dont really know exactly what went on that night..but what i can say is that the michael i know didnt act like he would commit a crime like this..im not the type to judge anybody on what they’ve done ..because nobody actually knows what went on that night but the people involved and the lord..so you people need to stop being so judgemental..my thoughts and prayers go out to all the people and families involved in this crime
