Happy US Flag Day

Of course today’s Holiday is officially called Flag Day — not US Flag day — but, sadly, I think the distinction needs to be pointed out that this Flag Day commemorates the Stars and Stripes.

A bunch of ingrates — often illegal ingrates — demanding US Citizenship seem a bit confused about which flag it is we honor and salute in this country (hint: it doesn’t have even a smear of green on it).

If you want to know what I think of flag desecration as “symbolic” speech, you can read what I wrote last year on Flag Day.

Google — who has a special logo for nearly every French holiday or birthday — once again fails to honor either our Flag or our US Army on their birthday today. Although, after watching the way the boys at Google surrendered to the censorship demands of the Chinese govn’t, I guess I have an inkling as to why. Which is why I’ve quit using Google altogether and have switched to Dogpile (who does have a special logo honoring our Flag today).

Today would be a good day to go out and purchase Keni Thomas’ album Flags of Our Fathers: a soldier’s story. Keni will be singing the National Anthem at tonights Washington Nationals game in Washington D.C. — they should let him sing the title track to this album, too.
