Showboats like Santorum and Schumer can't wait to jump in front of cameras. I love it when they go on Imus...he gives ém both royal hell along with a whole lot of other politicians that Imus gets ahold of. I laugh my ass off.

Robbie, wasn't the point of the invasion that Saddam Hussein had chemical weapons that could be used to attack our allies in 45 minutes? The Defense Department seems to think that you can't attack our allies with chemicals that have been sitting in the desert for 15 years.

George Bush claimed that he had evidence of a grave threat to our country. Finding a pickup truck full of Swiss Army knives and ninja stars doesn't change the fact that the threat did not exist.

American intelligence officials hastily scheduled a background briefing for the news media on Thursday to clarify that. Hoekstra and Mr. Santorum were referring to an Army report that described roughly 500 munitions containing "degraded" mustard or sarin gas, all manufactured before the 1991 gulf war and found scattered through Iraq since 2003.

Such shells had previously been reported and do not change the government conclusion, the officials said.

Last night Sean Hannity (to the evident delight of Ann Coulter) tried to force some Democrats to apologize for their "Bush lied, soliders died" jingoism - to no avail.

Bunch of candyasses!

Robbie - that's not what the democrats are saying, that's what the Pentagon is saying. You're wrong on this one, my friend. You got suckered in by Santorum - he's not trustworthy.

"not the WMD’s for which this country went to war.”

So now we're switching from "No WMDs" to, "Yeah, but not those WMDs"?

As Austin Bay said, "nerve gas is still nerve gas".

It's sad and telling that Democrats are still sticking up for Saddam and his terror-regime by claiming that the President is still at fault for finding the wrong WMDs.

Hell, if we found smuggled caches of WMDs in Syria with a Return Label addressed to:

Imperial Palace, Bahgdad
c/o Mr. Saddam Hussein

The Left would then spin it that "well, these WMDs aren't technically in Iraq, so Mr. Bush lied, and there still are no WMDs (except for the nerve gas...which are the wrong WMDs).

It's a failing of the Bush administration that this kind of news isn't presented at the time it's discovered.

Fact is, WMD were found, weapons not reported by Saddam to the UN inspectors or apparently found by them. What was Saddam going to do with them? There are certainly more and most certainly there were more spirited over the borders whilst the failed negotiations went on and on and on.

I suspect the reason that nobody except a few irrelevant right-wingers are talking about it is that when contacted about Ricky's latest desperation move (he's losing his senate race), a Defense Department official told Fox News flatly that the munitions hyped by Santorum and Hoekstra are “not the WMD’s for which this country went to war.” This is old, unimportant stuff.
