This is a really tragic and heartbreaking story:
The nursing staff at Killeen’s Metroplex Hospital (TX) were unable to revive a husband and wife Wednesday morning, after the man carried out an apparent murder-suicide in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Loyd Tullos, 84, was visiting the hospital regularly, especially at meal times, to care for his wife, Bonnie Tullos, 82, who was hospitalized Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
But it’s sad and tragic in a way that I can almost understand. It’s possible that they were married for more than 60 years. I can understand how you can love somone one so much for so long, that you can’t bear to see them suffer, nor can you bear to live without them.
It sort of reminds me of the love story between Charles Boyer and his wife Pat Paterson. Charles was the French actor who commited suicide two days after his wife of 44 years died of cancer. He simply didn’t want to live without her anymore.
