Sean Derrick O’Brien became the first of the 6 men responsible for the rape, torture, and murder of two teenage girls back in 1993 to be executed for the crime.

O’Brien apologized profusely before being executed, but it didn’t mean anything to the victims’ families:

“It’s been a long time coming,” Adolfo Pena, who lost his daughter in the attack, said after watching the execution. “I wish we could have done all six at once.

“We finally, finally got some justice for Elizabeth and Jennifer. You don’t know how that feels to have some justicse for my daughter, for the stuff that she had to go through.”

Pena, who wore a T-shirt with the photos of the two slain girls beneath his shirt, said O’Brien’s apology from the death chamber gurney “didn’t mean much to me.”

“It doesn’t bring my daughter back, but it’s just a little bit late for that, don’t you think?” he said.

Elizabeth’s biological father left a comment on this post in my blog right after O’Brien was executed tonight:

I could have watched the execution but for what, fathers day will be the same christmas will still be a lonely time and I will still wonder about the possibillities of a future unfufilled.any way its just another sad day in my life damn it.

Peter Cantu and Jose Medellin are the only other two members of the gang still on death row for their part in this horrible crime. I hope O’Brien’s death tonight terrified them. I hope their day is coming very, very soon.

MORE — From the Houston Chronicle:

O’Brien turned down repeated requests for interviews.

But on a Web site provided by death penalty opponents, O’Brien wrote that “Life is a miracle and therefore precious. Each time one is taken … the world loses something special.” His observation was in reference to his own life, not that of his victims.

Excellent! Assuming O’Brien actually killed three people (he was suspected in the murder of a 27yr old mother of 2 shortly before the Ertman and Pena murders) the most deserving of these 6 vermin is down. Hopefully the other two should will be scheduled on the same day, the families shouldn’t have to make three trips.

too bad they wont execute all 6. i dont care how old they were when they killed the girls. in my book, they all deserve to die a horrible death.

It is not July 12th and I cannot find anything that says that the execution was done yesterday. I live in Dallas and usually they post a blurb in the Dallas Newspaper (on-line). I even Googled it and found nothing. Did it happen?

typo…I meant…it is NOW July 12th…sorry about that

Angie — yes, he was executed. There are links to the Austin Statesman and Houston Chronicle articles in the post above.

Sweet! …and then there were two.

btw, Robbie… I’ve enjoyed your site.

ODE TO NOORA

Oh Noora oh Noora
O’Brien adores ya
‘Write me some filthy sex notes’ he implores ya
And of course you do, sitting safe in Helsinki
Writing to help him jerk off, his murdering winkie.

However the thought of that lethal injection
Goes someway to cooling this killer’s erection.
And at least he’ll be safe from your sexual infection.
When he’s gone will you cope with your social rejection?

How stupid I am, of course you will
You have plenty of other boyfriends who kill.
I’m sure every night you thank God, Jesus too
That victims have died so you have something to do.

If murdering stopped, and Death row was clear
You’d have to confront your biggest fear
Being left all alone with a failing career
But killing continues so don’t shed a tear.

Oh Noora oh Noora how low can you go
I’ve just read your posts on the PTO
The injection, don’t worry, he will not feel a thing
And at least he’ll be safe from John William King

I think these men made a huge decision that changed their lives and the two innocent victims forever. Yes their lives were probably hard, but so many people’s lives are hard and they don’t rape and kill others.

It’s hard for some to agree with the death penalty, even myself sometimes, but what if these girls were your girlfriend or sister etc.? I know little about this story, but I feel that this crime sounds so brutal that even I hope they die!! Anyone who can rape and kill innocent girls should be treated worst than any dog or rat in the world. They will forever rought in jail, die by state and for sure burn in hell!! Kill Them NOW!!

NO PITY SHOULD BE GIVEN TO MONSTERS. DIE MONSTERS!! THE WORLD WILL BE LAUGHING AND HAPPY WHEN YOU DIE!!

THESE MONSTERS DON’T DESERVE ANY PITY!! WHAT PITY DID THEY SHOW TO THE GIRLS? NONE!! KILL THESE CONVICTS..THEY DESERVE WORSE THAN WHAT THEY DID TO THOSE GIRLS!! THEY ARE COWARDS AND THEY SHOULD DIE WHILE THE WHOLE WORLD LOOKS ON IN DELIGHT!!

WHO CARES ABOUT A MONSTER? NOT ME!! DIE YOU DEVILS!!

Robbie,

I wanted to add to Gordon from London’s comment on the previous post about lawyers making money from the appeals process. A family member worked for the Crown Prosecution service in the UK for several years. She got to see many of the case notes for the most brutal crimes in the region.

The experience changed her completely. Defence lawyers are the lowest form of life in her eyes; she is convinced beyond doubt that thanks to these very well paid defence lawyers there are many criminals walking the streets who should be in prison.

The disintegration of society in Britain needs law to be enforced properly. That is not happening. Had Britain retained the death penalty there wouldn’t be the high numbers of killings there are now.

[...] of the gang members, Sean Derrick O’Brien, has already been executed for his role in the rape and murder of Jennifer and [...]

Just one thing. The executed trash, do they all at least get incinerated? It’s very important to clean up after the states job is over………..
P.S. I’d opt for hanging or at the very least, electricution for these bums.

Got something you want to say?
