I think the Miss Universe pageant is a ridiculous display of vanity, desire for fame, and egomania. While I’m sure the contestants are good people who do some good work, in general I think the Miss Universe pageant does more harm than good. What a bunch of plastic fake looking people! Even though they come from all over the world- there is a homogenity to all of them. Was anyone from the Milky Way represented in this Universal pageant? Pa-leese. Who cares who is the hottest? Who decides what is beauty? While the world tears itself up, I fail to see how these pageants, while international in scope- bring any sort of enlightenment to the planet. I look forward to the day when they no longer exist.

There were two Puerto Rican judges, and the winner was already predicted to come from a Latin American country. It’s almost as if Miss Puerto Rico was set up to win from the start.

Halfway through, I was rooting for either Miss Japan or Miss Mexico.

I saw the show and PR blew all them all out the water..and I ain’t Puerto Rican..anyone with eyes saw that it was between PR and Japan..and if either one won it ..and one did so it was all fair face it haters….for once the judges got it right and they were not blinded by politics or the mexicans in the joint blowing up Ms. Mexico! The only thing that was a cheat was that Ms. T&T was not being in the top 5..most of those girl should not have made the top 20 but at least the one who was obviously the best performer got the price..deal with it losers!

Miss Philippines should be atleast in top 20. Its already 7 years where the Philippines have not in the semi-finalist. They are so biased! Since Miss Universe Organization have partnership with NBC.

The organizer and producer of Ms. Universe should be fair to all candidates and countries. It was sad to note that most of the girls that were included in Top 20 came from South America and it could be attributed to the judges who hailed from those countries and who had connections to the organizer. It’s very aweful! There were great ladies who were not included in Top 20 who should have a spot in the top ranks like Australia, Philippines and others. I could only sympathize with Ms. Japan who walked out upon learning that she’s only First Runner Up when she could have won the pageant. Ms. Puerto Rico’s winning the beauty pageant was half-baked. To the mind of televiewers, she won because one of the judges was from Puerto Rico and other judges were from America too. If the same thing will be happening again in the future, the integrity of the contest will be lost.

LAtinas have always stuck out since the begining of MISS UNIVERSE Latin countries send their winners to MISS UNIVERSE while some asians dont, and besides LATINAS posses what MISS UNIVERSE looks for, I dont think this year in 2007 will be good for latinas 2005 WAS THE BEST 4 out of 5 where latinas, but I think our hopes lies with MISS VENEZUELA, MISS MEXICO and MISS GUATEMALA if She steps up her game!
