Israel Engaged in “Self-Immolation”

Larry Johnson, a “former CIA agent, New York Times columnist and current MSM “go to” expert on all things intelligence-related”, in his condemnation of Israel, offers up this gem in support of Hezbollah:

What about Hamas and Hezbollah?

They are not terrorists. They carry out terrorist attacks, but they are not terrorists…

You, Larry, are a dumbass. That’s like saying that just because you like blowing strange men in public restrooms that you’re not gay.

Selective quotations won’t do much for your credibility, particularly when the next line explicity undermines your parody of his position:

They are something far more dangerous. They are fully functioning political, social, religious, and military organizations that use terrorism tactics, but they are far more formidible than terrorist groups like Al Qaeda or the Basque Terrorist Organization. They do have the resources and the personnel to project force, sustain operations, and cannot be easily defeated.

Good grief, is that freaking idiot still around?

Perhaps you need to define terrorist for me Robbie. I agree that I find Hezbollah’s targeting of civillians deplorable but in the end Israel kills many more civillians than do the ‘terrorists’.

Is the only distinction for you the choice between a jet or a suicide bomber to carry out the attack?

What the hell is the matter with the Left? Why are they so damned afraid of calling a terrorist a terrorist? Freedom fighters, insurgents, the worthy opposition…these are all terms I hear repeatedly from the Left and their MSM. About the only time I hear the term “terrorist” is when they are referencing US Soldiers.

Here’s a start for you, Preston:

Hezbollah = terrorist
Israel = not terrorist
al Qaeda = terrorist
US Marines = not terrorist
Osama Bin Laden = terrorist
President George Bush = not a terrorist
Richard Reid = terrorist (wannabe, anyway)
Prisoners in Abu Ghraib = terrorists
The soldiers guarding those prisioners = not terrorists

And finally, since the Left can’t quite remember back this far:
The men who flew our planes into our buildings: terrorists
The President, his administration, and the men and women of our armed services who have prevented another attack on our soil (despite the obstructions and objections of the Democratic Party) = not terrorists.

I was hoping for a little more introspective answer. I’m sure the ‘Us=Good, Them=Bad’ formula is comforting but don’t fool yourself that al Qaeda and every combatant in history hasn’t had the same idea.

You were in the Army- of course you were taught to respond with decisive force. But surely you have an understanding of Just War theory. If proportionality is irrelevant why is it bad for al Qaeda to kill 3000 civilians but ok for the US to kill 300,000 in Hiroshima? I’m not saying that bombing Hiroshima was the wrong decision but by your logic it is justified simply because the guy who made the decision lives in the same country as you: a rather infantile criteria. (If you don’t think so, please don’t criticize Arabs for celebrating in the streets upon news of another suicide bombing)

. . . please don’t criticize Arabs for celebrating in the streets upon news of another suicide bombing.

Robbie: Don’t question Preston’s patriotism.

“There is a serious crisis of civilization”

The following is an article just published by Gingrich. I think it’s a must read, a true and accurate representation of current and future events. We must win.

Anonymous, is your reading comprehension really at such a level that you believe that I support suicide bombings and their celebrations?

If so, that’s not what I said.

If not, don’t be a jackass.

Incidentally, anonymous, there are values greater than patriotism. I suppose you could say the ‘Arab Street’ can quite patriotic when they support a deadly victory over a bunch of Israelis on their way to work or sitting in a cafe.

And Robbie, to deal with the substance of your post. The US has been Israel’s greatest ally for decades. Yet along with arming the Israeli army we also have provided a bargaining table for both sides to come to when tensions escalate allowing them to back away from hostilities without losing face. Perhaps for the first time Israel does not have that resource.

Preston said ‘ass’.

Got something you want to say?
