Miss Indonesia faces prosecution from intolerant Muslims
Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza (18) of Puerto Rico, was crowned Sunday night as Miss Universe 2006. Kurara Chibana of Japan was first runner-up.
My favorite, Miss Mexico, did not make the Top 5. Miss USA, 20-year-old Tara Conner, was the fourth runner-up.
Miss Indonesia is facing prosecution from a hardline Muslim group who complained to police about her appearance in a bikini. The women’s chapter of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) want Indonesian authorities to prosecute Miss Indonesia, Nadine Chandrawinata.
I had planned on watching, but instead a bunch of us got together for margaritas and Mexican food to help celebrate a good friend’s birthday.
