The Washington Post reported in Wednesday’s editions that Charles Rangel, a Democratic representative from New York, would leave Congress if the GOP retained control of the House.

But I’ll believe it when I see it. Just like Alec Baldwin and a whole bus-full of his Hollywood buddies promised they would move out of the United States when President Bush won re-election.

Will he actually quit? Of course not. Somehow he’ll contrive a “moral victory” even if Republicans gain seats.
Still, it will be funny to watch him explain that he’s far too important to possibly quit the Congress.

What’s the point of going to the trouble of being elected to the House of Representatives if you’re going to leave before you’re dead or convicted?
