Terror Plot in UK Thwarted

British police said Thursday they had arrested 21 people in connection with a terror plot against airlines travelling from Britain to the United States which was “intended to be mass murder on an unimaginable scale.”

The arrested individuals are British-born young male Muslims. This is important to note, as the MSM will probably leave out that small, irrelevant fact that these young terrorists were all Muslims. (You keep hearing that “not all Muslims are terrorists.” — yeah, well all of these Muslim men are).

From the BBC:

“We are confident that we have disrupted a plan by terrorists to cause untold death and destruction and to commit, quite frankly, mass murder,” he said.

“We believe that the terrorists’ aim was to smuggle explosives on to aeroplanes in hand luggage and to detonate these in flight. We also believe that the intended targets were flights from the United Kingdom to the United States of America.”

Glenn Reynolds:

Some people have decided that the war on terror is passe. But although you may not be interested in terrorism, terrorism is still interested in you.

Those “people” are also commonly referred to as the Democratic party of the United States.

Congrats on your immediate employment of a terrorist threat to score political points.

He’s just stating the obvious.

I’m sure bin Laden would be proud of him.

I especially like the insinuation that all Muslims are terrorists by sarcastically quoting that “not all Muslims are terrorists.” That’s cute. Let’s work really hard to get ALL Americans to have that kind of ignorant, stereotypical view. Lets not stop there. While we’re at it, we can get our already divided country to think that all whites are white trash, all blacks are dumb and lazy, and all Hispanics are on welfare. Because after all, maybe fueling more hate and bigotry will be the answer to the problem.

I hate terrorists and their extremist religious views just as much as any other pro-war, patriotic American, but fueling hatred and bigotry towards all Muslims is not going to make the situation any better. Yes, these men are Muslim. As are Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Bin Laden, and all those other sons-of-bitches that think they have the right to kill innocent men, women, and children, but there are far more docile, non-violent Muslims. Condemning them all because they have the unfortunate fate of sharing the same religious beliefs as those monsters is wrong.

Not only is it wrong but it’s exactly what Osama bin Laden wants. Islam is not a unified religion- there are hundreds of ethnic groups ,several major doctrinal differences, and dozens of different countries dividing these 1 billion people. Most of them have no patience for the Islamistist vision of a world dominated by fundamentalism. Yet when given a choice between the United States invading their country and a Saudi who stands up against that invasion, we have pushed millions of people into Osama’s corner.

This is not irreversable: the US simply needs to exploit the differences in our enemies rather than bringing them together with knuckleheaded foreign policy. I’ll give credit for George Bush for continuing to affirm that Islam is not the enemy yet there are extremist Muslims that must be uprooted out of these cultures.

More credit goes to Scotland Yard for rounding these assholes up (England has a serious problem with assimilating Muslims that must be addressed if their country is to be secure.)

Islamic Fundamentalists cannot win without our bungling assistance- I simpply wish ‘conservatives’ had as much faith in our country.

Until “moderate” Muslims begin activly assiting in rooting out and defeating the “extremist” living amongst them — I’ll continue to believe them complicit if for nothing else: doing nothing.

As BlackFive puts it:

The bad guys live among the rest of the Muslim communities worldwide, the only way this war ends is when those communities decide they won’t tolerate the jihadis. Until then all we can do is keep looking for them and whacking ‘em down whenever we find them.

Our actions don’t fit your goals. If we want to split moderates from extremists it doesn’t make much sense to bomb them all. These are the techniques of terrorists- they embed themselves into civilian populations and wait for us to produce civilian casualties. We don’t have to play their games.

I understand you were in the Army and trained to defeat Saddam’s army (or the Soviets?) but they don’t have an army so your desire to use ‘decisive force’ plays into their hands. We have the strongest army, the strongest democracy, and the most emulated culture in the world; the only way they will defeat us is if we fall into their trap of alienating our own natural allies against the terrorist threat.

I think a few of you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Sure it would be nice not to stereotype other races or religions, but that is impossible and unrealistic, especially, since all of the 9/11 hijackers were muslim. Reality is that in today’s world, the muslims are at the bottom of the totem pole, getting screwed by everyone else at the top.

Reality is that in today’s world, the muslims are at the bottom of the totem pole, getting screwed by everyone else at the top.

You’ve got that backasswards. The muslims are screwing themselves by their murderous hatred of all things non-muslim.

By screwing themselves over, they put themselves down there. Now that they are down there, everyone else is screwing them with whats going on now.

The Muslims need to learn how to get along with others.

Got something you want to say?
