And she’s not alone

A few days ago Wuzzademette posited the idea that Hollywood was “scooching right.”

Maybe she was onto something:

The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today’s Los Angeles Times newspaper.

It specifically targets “terrorist organisations” such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.

“We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas,” the ad reads.

It’s refreshing to see this. It’s good to see them not blaming Israel, and it’s good to see them actually name names (Hamas, Hizbullah) of those who they do condemn. There’s a very long list of Hollywood actors that I refuse to support by paying to see their movies. It’s good to see that there is still some decency left in Hollywood.

Others signing the endorsment of Israel: Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis (no surprise), Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton, William Hurt, Ridley Scott, and Michael Chiklis (my Hollywood double).

I’ll try to post a complete list of all 85 actors once I find it.

That would be great. Thanks.

I have been quite upset over the pronouncement by the President (not sure if that is his title) of Lebanon that Hez is such a glorious organization instead of the terrorists they really are and for that matter several others, including Gingrich, who seem very discouraged by the “win” of the terrorists in Lebanon and Iraq. I feel like I don’t have a good grip on what is going on with respect to our place in the rest of the world. I am really really angry with the UN and if I had my way, they wouldn’t get another dime until they fulfilled their promises.

I really wonder who is running the show. I really wonder if radical Islam will win. I wonder if we should bring our soldiers home right away but I really fear what will happen to the Kurds. God forbid they are gassed again.

These are tragic times. I feel so friggin helpless.

Almost forgot to comment on the post. I am so proud of Kidman and the others who are standing tall.

Nicole Kidman speaks out against the Hezbollah

Something tells me that her ex-hubby Tom Cruise would be less likely to do something as courageous as she’s now doing, exactly why she’s lucky to be divorced from him. Here’s the news from the Boston Herald (Hat tip: Hot Air)

Hollywood Supports America?

Too bad they had to pay for an ad though. If they had been rallying in support of hezbollah and burning American or Israeli flags, they’d have gotten wall-to-wall coverage for free. But they can probably afford to break free of a few bucks for the Re…

Consider this a trackback.

Hollywood News has more on the ad. Commenter Robbie has posted a complete list of signers along with a copy of the ad.

I will boycott every one of these stupid racist, fascist bastards that signed that piece of utter garbage. Knowing Hollywood their careers would have been in serious jeopardy if they had properly endorsed
the Palestinian and Lebanese victims of Israeli State Terrorism.
But they chose the easy, safe, cheap way out and endorsed the two
greatest terrorist states in the world, the USA and Israel.
The kind of objectivist and conservative mongoloids endorsing this
most blatant of all rights-violating activity have richly earned the
utter contempt they will receive for all time.

nicole kidman courageous? i guess so..it is pretty courageous being openly stupid. this is the dumbest statement ive ever come across.

I am impressed by Nicole Kidman and the others. They muster ed the courage to go against the political trend of the Hollywood group that they are a part of. And it is sad that it takes courage to say the obvious–that these groups that target civilians, that call for the destruction of a whole country, and that hold as their charter the submission of all to radical Islamic laws–are terrorist organizations. I hope these celebrities have started a new trend.

Hezbollah abducted two prisoners of war (which they apologized for) in exchange for the 10,000 Lebanese that Israel has abducted who are now rotting in Israel’s notorious torture chamber prisons. Where’s the petition calling for an end to all economic and military aid (3 billion dollars a year) to Israel from the US? Oh, as Rob Reiner pointed out, Hollywood is run by Jews, even Disney. Maybe that answers my question.

Yes, Rick…since 1948, those poor Arab nations have done absolutely nothing to provoke Israel. The mere snatching of two Israel soldiers was the first indescretion by Arabs against Israel — and hey, they even apologized for it!

Oh…wait…I seem to remember something about every Arab nation vowing to destroy Israel. They have all denounced her right to even exist, and have made it their life’s work to wipe Israel off the map.

I don’t seem to recall any apologies for that.

Only one side of this conflict has the power to bring peace. And the Arabs are unwilling to do so:

1) What would happen if all the Arab nations and their terrorist proxies like Hezbollah set down their arms and gave up their ambitions to drive Israel into the sea?

There would be peace in the Middle East.

2) What would happen if Israel disbanded the IDF, junked its nuclear weapons and declared to its neighbors that she would do anything to live in peace?

Israel would be annihilated, millions of its citizens killed. The term genocide could be used to describe the ensuing holocaust, but since that term has been so hopelessly debased by American academics, a new term would have to be created like super-duper-mega genocide to really capture the nature of things.

Fuck Hezbollah.

Robbie,

Do you think the price you pay for protecting Israel, unconditionally, is worth it? Im baffled at how Americans feel they need to be the protectorate of a state thats 15 billion miles away from them, and is little more than a political, economic, and humanitarian burden.

Do you think Israel is worth $4bn in American taxes every year?
Do you think Israel is worth the 3,000 victims that died on 9/11?
Is Israel worth the loss of 1.2bn people as allies?

You people need to reasses what Israel means to you. Maybe take a page of the Europeans book? Because we found out long ago, it was very heavy baggage, and isnt worth a single euro, young mans life, or enemy.

The vast majority seem to believe that Israel is an ally of the United States. If that’s the case, how do you explain both the USS Liberty and “The Lavon Affair?” With friends like Israel, who needs enemies?

Throughout history, over seventy cultures throughout the world have expelled the Jews. Why is this? There has to be a damn good reason. I believe one reason to be that they have a superiority complex with beliefs such as being God’s chosen people.

As for the soldiers Hezbollah supposedly kidnapped from Israel, left unsaid is that the soldiers were in Lebanese territory and thus they should have expected no less.

I’ll be frank, I want Israel “wiped of the map.” I also would not mind seeing every zionist pig smoked out in the worst way. Until they are, you cannot begin to have peace in this world.

This is beyond racist and should be illegal. The petition is psychological terrorism. Nicole Kidman has absolutely no right to advocate for the killings of the children of Palestine and Lebanon. The next child that dies in Palestine and Lebanon, Nicole is partly responsible.
Where do these drunkard, drug addicted, racist, ill-educated actors get the audacity to explicitly endorse violence and state terrorism from?
Nicole Kidman has shamed Australia.

Today this is a victory for terrorism, thanks to the undemocratic views displayed. God damn all the signatories and long live the real deomcracy and those who fight effortlessly for peace.

and with the Hollywood crowd—-which is why Arianna never condemned Israel’s rape of Lebanon last year. I’m surprised she didn’t sign that infamous Hollywood ad against Lebanon and Hamas during Israel’s attack. (For a picture of that ad, see UrbanGrounds. I also suspect that Arianna got privately spanked for printing retired general Wesley Clark’s comment about “New York money people” pushing for war. BOYYYCOTTT!!!
HAHA Starbucks HAHAHAHA!

Not only boycott Zionist related products but be sure to buy and support the COMPATITION (assuming they arn’t zionist hooked up too) of Zionist product so as to have a double impact. Buy Pepsi instead of Coke, Buy Second Cup instead of Starbucks.

Got something you want to say?
