Of Course I am against terrorism — especially rich and powerful Republican terrorists

Last week, Russel blessed us with his I Hope And Pray We Don’t Get Hit Again-BUT …..I hope we get hit again essay at the Huffbollah Post.

This week, Russel has taken on the brave task of looking domestic terrorism directly in the face. Lucky for everyone, Russel survived his ordeal, and now reveals his definitions of real, everyday terrorism right here in the good ol’ US of A:

But on the broader scale, some critics may fail to realize that for millions of Americans, terrorism is a frequent presence. Not the terrorism of a shoe-bomber, or of trumped up orange alerts based on intercepts of guys shouting “Jihad” in an Internet chat room, but the real psychological and economic terrorism often visited on Americans in the guise of:

And who does Russel believe to be the real terrorists in our midst?

  1. Casualty Assistance Officers (COAs) from the US Military
  2. Hurricane Katrina (and the Bushilter administration that caused that “natural” disaster)
  3. Bill collectors
  4. Real-estate developers
  5. Public Transportation and Oil Company shareholders
  6. Pro-life, anti-abortion advocates
  7. Anti drug-legalization advocates (people who won’t just let him smoke his dope in peace and legal-bliss)
  8. Insurance companies
  9. Homophobic realtors

Russel believes that rich and powerful Republicans are terrorists. And the infidels subjected to their jihads are the poor and vulnerable in this nation. Russel goes so far as to count tigers and bears (Oh my!) as victims of Republican terrorism.

I bet when Russel discusses real Islamofascist terrorists (which, as far as I can tell, he never does discuss), he uses finger-quotes when he says the word “terrorist”.

Many on the left chided Russel for his essay on macabre calculus. But I checked the comments on this failed exercise in moral equivalancy — and there’s an awful lot of patting on the back and comments to the effect of, “you nailed this one on the head”, and “you’re so brave to speak truth to power”.

Who is Russell Shaw?

Exactly.

Trust me, he’s a victim of everything. Sickening

If you have to trawl the internet to find an example of outrageous behavior it makes the point that it isn’t a commonly held opinion.

Trust me, Russell Shaw isn’t likely to become President of the United States or owner of Fox News Channel or any other outlet where his opinion actually means a damn.

I’d hardly call the front page and being a featured blogger on the Huffington Post “trawling the internet”.

A front page blogger at the HP gets a larger readership than Keith Olberman has viewers.

From my experience, that would fall under one of two categories: Preaching to the choir, or Affirmation to those who believe that libs are all crazy.

It’s pretty much the same with all blogs. I rarely have any ‘A HA!’ moments when I’m trawling the blogs…. it’s a rare blog that I agree with 100%. As a matter of fact, I don’t believe it’s happened yet.

Right, America’s top 300 liberal thinkers including Tony Blankley, Bob Barr, and Christopher Hitchens…

My rule of thumb is that if you have to explain to me who the guy is first I’m not likely to be quite as outraged when he says something stupid. But I prefer keeping my level of outrage to a somewhat civilized level.

Who is Shaw??? That is what I would like to know!

Got something you want to say?
