Annika makes the following observation:
In the aftermath of the Reuters photo meltdown, wherein photographs taken by a freelancer were doctored for political effect, it might be a good time to note that the most compelling independent evidence of the alleged Haditha atrocities are …. photographs taken by a freelancer.
No shit.

Oh, come on. That must be the lamest attempt to dismiss these serious charges EVER.
The Pentagon has been investigating for months, and they are being fooled by doctored photos????????
You know you don’t believe that – you’re smarter than that – but it sure sounds like a valid point, if you are careful not to think about it even at tiny little bit.
I understand the 9 year old whose family was killed was a freelancer as well.
The presumption is that the doctored photos enhance the argument against Israel- as if they had been photoshopped to include Olmert torturing kittens. The photos are obviously not justifiable from a journalistic standpoint but the automatic assumption that they make Israel look worse is weak and solely based on the fact that the photographer is an Arab.
They may be able to tell if doctored, but not necessarily if staged. And if they suspect it is staged, it would help to have other evidence to support it. Unfortunately, the investigation has been hindered by the investigators not being allowed to exhume the bodies. But, since we are talking about affording due process for servicemen, it’s guaranteed you two will take the opposite position.
Hey Anon,
I’ll speak for myself, thanks.
