Richard Hinojosa to be Executed Tonight

On May 10, 1994 in San Antonio Richard Hinojosa, 44, kidnapped, robbed, sexually assaulted, and murdered 19 year old Terry Wright. Wright found Hinojosa burglarizing her residence. She was driven in her own car to an isolated location where she was robbed, sexually assaulted and stabbed to death with what was believed to have been a screwdriver. DNA testing linked Hinojosa to the killing.

Hinojosa spent just over 2 years on prison from 1986 — 1988 for voluntary manslaughter and robbery by threats.

Only 2 years for killing robbing and killing someone? That’s what happens when you let murderers plea bargain. Hinjosa never should have been allowed back into society. I hope whoever decided to let him out of prison sleeps well knowing that Terry Wright’s blood in on their hands.

Scheduled next to die, on Aug. 24, is Justin Fuller, condemned for the abduction, robbery and fatal shooting of a Tyler man in 1997.

UPDATE: At 6:19 p.m., Hinojosa became the 18th brutal murderer put to death by the mandate of the people of the state of Texas.

  1. Typical. He denied his guilt to the bitter end. Said he was going to heaven. Right.
