2006 World Series of Poker Blogging

Brian from mgoblog (a U of Michigan sports blog) is playing in the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. He’s still alive after the first two days. And he’s blogging about it.

I’m a Phil Ivey fan and Phil Hellmuth hater. So I was glad to read that Phile the Mouth — a featured table participant — was knocked out early; this was announced to the room to raucous applause.

Ha.

  1. Ok,
I took first in Game 5 and there was some controversy for second place and we need some help.

Steve was all in with 44 chips
Jason was all in with 44 chips
Tabatt was all in with 36 chips

So that’s 36 chips between the three of us and 16 chips between Jason and Steve.

Steve’s hand beat Jason and Tabatt
    Tabatt’s hand beat Jason’s

Jason argued that since he had more chips in, and that Tabatt was out first with less chips, then Jason took second place.
I argued that since both Jason and Tabatt had zero chips (because I took them all) that Tabatt took second place because he had the next best hand.

Here is the question: Who takes second?
