The leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that its war against Christianity and the West will go on “until Islam takes over the world“.

I want all of you Democrats and Leftards to re-read that last bolded statement: Until Islam takes over the world.

  • Not “until the US withdraws its troops from Iraq”.
  • Not “until Israel is wiped off the map”.
  • Not “until John Kerry is President”.
  • Not “until Al Gore solves global warming.”

But until Islam takes over the world.

What part of that don’t you understand?

This isn’t a war against Iraq, just as we’re not at war with Afghanistan. We are at war with Islamists. And the only way to defeat them is to annihlate them whereever we find them. Right now, we’re finding (and killing) a bunch of them in Iraq. I’m sure we could find a bunch more in Syria and Iran, too.

Democrats have some notion (not a plan, mind you, just a notion) that we can placate and reason with these jihadists. That if we simply leave them alone, they’ll leave us alone. And the Democrats are wrong. Which is why we need another President who is committed to protecting the United States by continuing to fight the war that is beign waged on us by Islamists.

Until Islam takes over the world. Remember that when you’re voting in November, and again in ‘08. And think about who you’d really rather have standing between you and a bunch of jihadist who want to cut your head off or blow up your office building.

The Iraqi parliment also demanded:

..the pope take practical steps to restore respect to the Islamic world and its religion, and a clear-cut apology for what he said

They want the Pope to restore respect to the Islamic world and its religion? The Pope might be a powerful man, but he ain’t that powerful.

The only ones who have the ability to restore respect to the religion of Islam are the majority of “moderate Muslims” — whom we’ve heard much about, but have yet to see any evidence of actually exisiting. As long as they are the Religion of Perpetual Outrage, responding to any perceived slight or insult with violence, murder, and threats of more violence and murder — then there will be no respect.

Al Qaida is not Islam. I’m all in favor of fighting Al Qaida - in fact, I wish our idiot president hadn’t allowed himself to be distracted from that fight by the neo-con nation builders who wanted to go after Iraq, instead.

Well, according to critical reasoning, many democrats would counter your arguement, saying that by attacking Iraq, we are giving these people a reason to kill us(Fair enough). The people in Iraq did not have such an intense hatred toward the US prior to invading Iraq. [Robbie: Really? 'Cause when I was over there in '91, I saw more than a little anti-American sentiment. Are you basing your comment on actual first hand experience in Iraq prior to 9/11, or are you just echoing Daily Kos talking points?] Their hatred was toward their own dictator. (In my mind, i would have loved to continue letting them hate him, while we stay out of it). [Robbie: You would have loved to allow Saddam to continue to perpetrate genocide on his own people? You would have allowed Saddam to continue to build up an arsenal to be used against the US? You would have loved Saddam to continue to allow terror cells to use his country as a training ground? How noble of you.]

We could have used 9/11 as a building block with other democratic countries to build an alliance greater than anything ever seen before. We could have easily defeated any threat to freedom by simply building an alliance with other countries [Robbie: You mean like France?]. Just look at how Britain has been able to thwart attacks on their own soil [Robbie: What? Do you not remember the attacks of 7/7? Britian is a hot bed of homegrown Islamist terror activity. If you truly do not know that, you haven't been paying attention. At all.] [Robbie: Really? The Australians, Canadians, Brits, Italians, Belgians, and others would be surprised to hear that.] . It would make a world of difference, if we had soldiers from Russia or even Japan with us in Iraq.

– Well, thinking back on it, what was the reason why we went there in the first place? To help Kuwait from being invaded, but also to get oil from Kuwait. If we just stayed out of it to begin with, then they could have resolved their own problems.

[Robbie: You would have loved to allow Saddam to continue to perpetrate genocide on his own people? You would have allowed Saddam to continue to build up an arsenal to be used against the US? – Sure, let them kill each other off. Less work for us. Maybe if we were lucky, Saddam could have killed a few would-be terrorists. Again, less work for us.

[Robbie: You mean like France?].
– France is the exception.

[Robbie: What? Do you not remember the attacks of 7/7? Britian is a hot bed of homegrown Islamist terror activity. If you truly do not know that, you haven’t been paying attention. At all.]
– Do you not remember the recently foiled attacks on the airliners. Blowing them out of the sky would have caused quite a bit of damage. Somehow, noone ever pays attention to that. My point in this regard is that we have sent much of our resource overseas, when we need it back home. Just think about this…. it is very easy for a terrorist to hitch a flight to Juarez, Mexico and simply walk across the border and blow himself up at a football game in El Paso…. or even hitch a flight to Montreal and walk across the border to Michigan and kill thousands there. How will we ever win the war on terror, when we cant even defend ourselves at home.

[Robbie: Really? The Australians, Canadians, Brits, Italians, Belgians, and others would be surprised to hear that.]
–Well last I heard, many are moving out, like Thailand. Oh and the 1000 soldiers sent from Canada to Afghanistan dont really count, especially when the US has about 150 times as many soldiers there.

Robbie, check out the following article… So it seems that even the government thinks we are worse off now because of what we did in Iraq. I agree.
