Reasons to Vote for Kinky

I think it’s time to start keeping a running list of Reasons to Vote for Kinky.

Here are Reasons 4 and 5 to vote for Kinky:

He acknowledged that the Texas governor’s authority is limited compared with executives in other states but said he would use the bully pulpit to cajole legislators. He doesn’t trust them, he said, adding: “I do not trust the media either.”

And…

One of the Texas governor’s few powerful roles is in appointing state board members, and Friedman said he would replace as many as he could, including regents at the University of Texas and Texas A&M.

“You clean house,” he said. “You get the old farts out of there. You put a bunch of young people in and you put a bunch of people who care about Texas. It’s pretty simple.”

I’m in a serious anti-incumbent funk right now — that doesn’t mean that I want to replace Republicans with Democrats…for the most part it means that I want to replace long-term Republicans with new, fresh Republicans — and I’m ready to start throwing nearly everybody out of office right now and starting over.

  2. He was at first considered an eccentric, his run looked upon as a joke. However, if he does win, the good ol’ boys in the Texas legislature will make his life a living hell. Or they’ll try anyway.

  3. Check out Kinky’s latest campaign misadventure where Kinky told the Associated Press “I am not a racist, I am a realist. … I never said what color their skin was. …. I’m smarter than that” just a few days after Kinky told Guillermo X. Garcia with the San Antonio Express-News “As it happens, the crackheads and thugs who remain in Houston after Katrina happen to be black; that’s fact.”
