I understand the bad aspects of it too, of course, especially for the families of the victims. Still, waiting a few years has it’s advantages. Not only does it insure the right person is being executed, it aLso gives the guilty party a lot of time to consider what they have done, to actually feel their coming execution getting closer and closer, with nothing in mnost cases they can do to stop the eventuality.

I think we should adopt Japanese Code of Criminal Procedure… the condemned have no knowledge of their date, and are are notified the morning of their execution.

They’ll keep them in total confinement, allow them three books, and notify nobody of the execution until it’s time to claim the body.

Scum, such as Buckley and Dollery, will be given too many rights and luxuries throughout their prison life. They’ll cry and moan about their childhood, say they didn’t do it, waste our hard-earned money on meals and appeals, earn a few degrees, and find God.

I am the x-wife of Shane, and the mother of his children. It saddens me that so much hate came out of his life. No, he was not an angel in this life, but he is now. He would never have ever done this kind of horrible act to any of his brothers and sisters on earth. He was a kind, loving man who fought hard for his country. I was married to him when he came home from Vietnam a changed and injured man in spirit and in body. He sacrificed for everyone’s freedom, just like all the other Veterans in this world have done. There is nothing I can think of that justifies another human beating taking the legs off of a disabled veteran, having them sit on the bank of a river, him knowing what is about to happen, and beat them in the back of the head with a bat and leave them for dead. I do feel such sorrow for the families of Buckley & Dollery, their nightmare has just begun. They have lost their loved ones just like my daughters, and grandchildren have lost their Daddy & Grandpa. It’s all been a sensless act over money! God Bless all of the Veterans and our friends and loved ones swho stood beside us in the midst of this horror. We miss Shane and think about him everyday.

I cannot believe that Heather thinks that Her brother is the same as everyone else. I taught my children to be strong, caring individuals, and to never hurt anyone. How can anyone with morals beat someone so badly that he dies from his injuries. And, leaving him in the water to die without his legs. These are NOT good people we are talking about. Today is begining of rightful justice that will soon be for everyone involved in my uncles murder. I will never know my uncle shane, the way that my family and his friends have known him. It hurts to think about all of the events and memories he will never be able to share with our family or with me. To the families of the murderers i am sorry that it got to that point, that you had to take away another persons life to get some money. It is tragic that i am only a year younger than the men who killed my uncle, and i cannot fathom how they even thought of that as a option. They may have gone into that september day thinking one person would die, but it reality everyone who knew shane goodman died a little inside. God bless everyone who did, and hopefully we can all be just as stong as my uncle. I love you uncle bear.

This was not just a great day for our family, but a great day for our father.

He called us “Pumpkin” and “Baby girl”, there was comfort in those words. These simple words are sorely missed in our lives.

We are proud of his ability to make a friend out of any stranger. His love and kindness to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and take those who needed a place to stay.

We are proud of the hero he was as a marine fighting for our countries freedom.

We are proud of the survivor he was with the loss of his legs. A strong man that learned to walk before the doctors ever imagined anyone could.

We are proud of the strength he possessed in the hours before his death. The fact that he drug his legless, broken arm, wounded head, and body that was riddled with disease up a forty foot embankment in hot humid August night weather. We are proud of him fighting back against the men who beat him and left him for dead. The words he was able to get out that resulted in the capture of the cowards who left him there.

These last few years have been the toughest our family has ever been through, but we have the strength our father instilled in us to get through these hard times.

Today was only the first in a long line of victories in the Liberty County Courthouse for our family.

We will continue to pursue all parties in the involvement in our father’s death. And we will not rest until we get every last one of them behind bars.

Guilty is pretty much guilty unless its not. Anyone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could be possible that one of the suspects just drove to the crime scene and events occured that they couldn’t control, so in a temporary lapse of judgement they set into motion a chain of events that they could not control.
I’m just saying that it’s possible. Texas has sentenced a man to life without parole based on accomplise testimony without any coarbitration, and on hearsay evidence from another witness.
Ladies and Gentleman this was and is a terrible occourance but I just suggest we look at all the evidence. I can’t imagine that there were no possible alternate theories of the crime.

I’m sure that there are still mysteries to the case that we have not been told. The District Attorney’s Office seems to be keeping everything about this case close to their vest, so that it does not jeopardize the future cases of all parties that have yet to stand trial.

So, I ask that you reserve your comments until AFTER YOU have sat in the Liberty County Court House, and listened to the Defendant’s CONFESSION to Capital Murder!!!!! You can plainly go up the ladder of charges, just as the Jury did, and see that his involvement was not JUST DRIVING the car.

You will then see for yourself how BOTH MEN are EQUALLY GUILTY to Capital Murder.

Also, I remember reading in the newspaper about one of his daughters said that “If we would have known that he lived in a pit of vipers, we would have rescued them.”

Take a look at the Appeals that happen. If you don’t follow the rules you must pay the price. That goes for suspects as well as the legal system. The better the legal system the less the appeals. If a man is guilty then so be it, if you need to stack the deck to insure it, you yourself have circumvented the very system on which this country was built on.

All they wanted was to announce victory in a long awaited battle in which they did not ask for. Then you came in, bashed their loved one and them at the same time. All the while making them feel like their victory was based on a slanted case with sub-standard defense council only. If anyone has any doubts about the guilt of Kenneth Dollery, and were not able to attend the trial and really get the whole piture. Read this article that was printed in the Liberty Newspaper. Then you will be assured that Kenneth and Hollis are exactly where they deserve to be. And that our jury of peers made the right decision to give him Life in Prison without the possibility of parole. This was without a doubt a pre-meditated murder, and for what? We don’t need people like this on the streets of America.

Kenneth Wayne Dollery, 24, of Baytown, Texas, was convicted by a Liberty County jury of Capital Murder and sentenced to Life without parole on Aug. 14.

A jury was selected to hear the capital murder case against Kenneth Wayne Dollery in the 253rd District Court on Aug. 10.

First Assistant District Attorney Anne Streit began the presentation of the State’s evidence on Aug. 11. The presentation of the evidence was completed on Aug. 13.

The evidence at the trial revealed that Barney Ross Goodman, 57, a double amputee Viet Nam veteran, was staying in the residence of a friend in Baytown in August of 2006 when Kenneth Dollery and his family moved into the house.

On Sept. 1, 2006, Kenneth Dollery and his stepmother, Tammy Delaney, took Mr. Goodman to a bank so he could withdraw some money. Later on in the day,

Goodman was robbed of his money by Dollery and his cousin, Hollis Buckley. Dollery and Buckley then made Goodman go with the two men in Dollery’s vehicle. Dollery and Buckley drove Barney Ross Goodman to the San Jacinto River Bridge on FM 2090 in Liberty County.

There, Kenneth Dollery removed Barney Ross Goodman’s prosthetic legs. Hollis Buckley then hit Barney Ross Goodman in the head with a baseball bat. Both men then dragged Barney Ross Goodman into the San Jacinto River.

The two men partied with Goodman’s money later on that evening. Barney Ross Goodman was left for dead but he managed to crawl some 260 feet up an embankment where he was discovered by a passing motorist.

Barney Ross Goodman was able to give a description of his attackers to law enforcement and EMS personnel. Barney Ross Goodman died on Sept. 2, 2006, from the stress associated with the head injury and being exposed to the environment for more than five hours. Kenneth Dollery and Hollis Buckley were subsequently arrested in Baytown.

Has hollis buckley been sentence yet? if so what did he receive? i can find no infomation on him. to the family of barney goodman he can rest in peace knowing the scums are getting what they deserve hopefully you can have some peace in your lives also.

Hollis pled out with a reduced sentence of life with the possibility of parole in 20 years. It is really sad that these boys ruined their entire life! But sadder, Mr. Goodman lost his. And for what?????

so you get 20 years for killing someone, come on isnt a life worth more than that? this is the problem with the system they are so eager to make deals and lessen the the sentence for these murderers and they know it they know how to work the system to basically walk free.

Buckley has not been sentenced yet, he wont until everyone who was a part of the murders has been tried. So anyone who has been saying otherwise is incorrect. Dollary was just moved to prison a day or so ago. Because Buckley has given information, the judge will consider that during his sentencing, but it does not gaurentee he will get a lesser sentence.

1) Fuck Hollis’s cousin, that crazy basterd is nuts. But as for Hollis himself. I grew up with him since I was 9 years old. We are the same age, and can HONESTLY say im the ONLY one here who knows him. The man had a messed up life from his dad dieing, to his step dad dieing, then to top it off, Got with a girl named Jessica Stith, who cared more for her coke and crack then anything else. After being with her for some time, Hollis got to into the drugs, and snapped. But as for all of you saying you wished he was killed now. Think of it this way, What if Hollis was just there for the ride? Thats someones son, and you should think of their friends and families, unlike Hollis’s cousin did. I do not believe Hollis did this, but do believe his cousin was the one to bend Hollis’s arm enough to do it. If anything, I believe his cousin should get death, and Hollis Life, WITH THE POSSIBILITY of parole.
