Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid is still in the mire of a shady (though legal) land deal where he intentionally hid his involvment in a land deal that netted him over $700K dollars:

An Associated Press expose shows that Reid pushed through changes in federal law that helped the senator get rich - via complex land deals with a lobbyist who’s also tied up in a federal bribery case.

And now he’s illegally dipping into his campaign fund as though it was his own personal petty cash drawer:

And there is a new revelation: that Reid has violated federal law by using campaign donations to pay personal expenses. He’s paying it all back — of course, after being called on it by the AP. What did the Atlanta Journal-Constitution say? Oh yes: “Reid’s ethics meter only seems to work when it’s too late.”

When former-Congressman Mark Foley was shown to have ingaged in inappropriate but legal behavior from his office, he promptly resigned.

Dirty Harry, on the other hand, is involved an inappropriate land deal and an illegal use of campaign donations. Illegal and inappropriate behavior.

Surely if Mr. Foley’s inapproprate but legal behavior is cause for resignation, than Sen. Reid’s inappropriate and illegal behavior is cause for the same.

You would think you could expect more from the Senate Democratic leader. But you’d be wrong.

I did NOT have “sex” with that woman! He lied.

Foley apparently did not have actual “sex” with that boy either, but he didn’t argue it and he resigned.

Is heterosexual nonsex forgivable but homosexual nonsex unforgivable?

And then there’s Congressman Studds who did have actual sex with a minor, was censured and then went back to business as usual on the Hill and even on his death was hailed by prominent Democrats.

I’m sorry. I’m lost.

Wow- I hope to God in three weeks we have people in power that actually know who we’re fighting.

Katrina, Schiavo, Iraq, the war on terrorism… I don’t need a liberal or a conservative, just some competence for a change.
