Natalie Maines and her band are the poster girls for the anti-war, anti-military defeatists in this country (and, inexplicably, Canada).
That’s fine. They can have her. But you can rest assured that there aren’t any Dixie Chicks posters adorning the walls of barracks, tents, bunks, or bearths of the Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors serving over in Iraq.
Natalie has made it abundantly clear that she doesn’t want the military as fans:
“I’d rather have a small following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don’t want those kind of fans. They limit what you can do.”
So while we’re stuck with Natalie Maines and her band of ingrates, the Aussies are blessed to have the stunning Beccy Cole.
Check out Beccy’s new video for Poster Girl, which is in response to some of her fans who disagree with her supporting the Diggers, the Australian soldiers fighting in The Long War:
I especially like this lyric:
And if unlike me you feel no pride at all, then go ahead and take me off your wall.
Cause I prefer to be a poster girl on the wrong side of the world.
In the words of the DreadPunditBluto, “AUSSIE! AUSSIE! AUSSIE! OY! OY! OY!”

What a great singer. It is even better that she supports the troops of her country. We need more people like her in the music business (and in the USA).
