I think I must have watched the scene where Jolie is walking on some kind of stage FOLLOWED by Pitt about a thousand times…

Even before this movie, I couldn’t help thinking to myself he is so pussy whipped I can’t believe it…

And so it goes…it’s up to the sheep at the boxoffice

Remember Angelina’s ties to the UN. That’s why the adoption of African babies, as oppossed to any of the numerous American children of any race that are in dire need of adoption. As for her role of Ms. Pearl, why do I have this strong sense that she will be heard to express the need to come to terms with her bereavement in a sensible and positive way, and to try to understand the hopelessness and the rage of her husbands murderers? Hell, as far as I know, the real Ms. Pearl might have actually expressed similar sentiments, I wouldn’t know for sure. But whether she did or not in real life, I would imagine it’s a pretty good bet she will in this movie.

Not really. That’s called makeup and hair styling. Look — I don’t believe in rioting because J-Lo who is puerto rican played Serena who was mexican. But as I said, there are many fine black actresses. They seemed relegated to roles of prostitues, sassy fat women, or coroners.

To be honest it had never occurred to me that she was black before this whole ’scandal’. She looks like about half of the women I see in New York so I suppose I thought she was Puerto Rican or something.

After all of the hullabaloo about race is done can we agree that the pictures of Jolie and Pearl in the link are actually remarkably similar?

From what I read Mariane Pearl is of Afro-Cuban/Dutch heritage. So that makes her black?

That and the fact she looks black. There are plenty of talented black/mixed race actresses — Jolie is not one of them.

Sorry to be a drag once again on one of the light-hearted posts but isn't this whole affair kind of creepy? From what I read Mariane Pearl is of 'Afro-Cuban/Dutch' heritage. So that makes her black? Are we still adhering to the 'one drop' rule? You could as easily criticize Jolie for stealing the role from a Dutch woman but the American conception of race doesn't work that way. In any case at least the role isn't being played by Jennifer Aniston.
