Today in History: Execution of Che Guevara

Che GuevaraOctober 9, 1967 — A day after being captured, Che Guevara was executed for attempting to incite a revolution in Bolivia.

To the Left, Che is still an iconic hero — you can’t walk across a college campus without seeing his image plastered on some college kid’s t-shirt.

[But] opponents of Guevara, including most of the Cuban exile community as well as refugees from other countries under communism, view him as a killer and terrorist. New York Sun writer, Williams Myers, labels Che as a “sociopathic thug”. Other US newspaper critics have made similar remarks. These critics point out that Che Guevara was “personally responsible” for the torture and execution of hundreds of people in Cuban prisons, and the murder of many more peasants in the regions controlled or visited by his guerrilla forces.

The Liberal Left has shown a propensity for resorting to violence to silent their critics and their oppositions. So, yeah. I can see why the Left idolizes him.
