I have seen girls wearing head scarves and I'm sure many wear them to public schools. Yes, we are a nation of immigrants but by in large all immigrant populations have adapted to the culture of this country. In the UK, a large percentage of muslims want a separate Sharia law. Seriously. I'm not sure that the situation is so simple that you can draw a simple lesson. If you go to Paris you will see that there is much more integration of immigrants and children of immigrants there yet somehow indications are that they are not doing well economically.
