George McGovern Thinks the US Causes Terrorism

George McGovern, the former senator and Democratic presidential candidate wants to meet with the new majority Democratic party in Congress next week to recommend a strategy to remove U.S. troops from Iraq by June.

In this post, one of my non-conservative readers wrote:

What happenned with Donald Rumsfeld is that he is proof positive that an old man shouldn’t be given significant power. Old men, and also old women, are way too set in their ways. Once they get something in their heads, by God that’s the way it is and they don’t want to hear any shit about it.

So, what do the new Dems do? They act like the old Dems, and bring in the 84-year old man to tell them that Iraq = Vietnam:

McGovern told the audience Thursday that the Iraq and Vietnam wars were equally “foolish enterprises” and that the current threat of terrorism developed because _ not before _ the United States went into Iraq.

I guess the old senile McGovern has already forgotten about the events that occurred on Sept 11, 2001. Somebody should wake the old coger up and show him some pictures of American citizens jumping from the upper floors of the burning World Trade Center towers.

If the Dems truly want to use their newly-won majority to affect positive change in both our country as well as in Iraq, then they would not allow morons like McGovern to use their chambers as part of his book signing tour.

  1. Damn, McGovern is even worse than Rumsfeld, he’s still living in the sixties, at least Rumsfeld made it to the seventies. The point is of course not their age, just that they haven’t been active, and still approach problems the same way they did when they were active. People that stay continually active don’t tend to live in the past, like these two.

Anyway, I guess this is one reason I like to visit conservative blogs, I get credit for being myself. On liberal blogs I get called everything from a “wingnut” to a “nazi”.
