Now that you have controll of both houses — now that you’re the majority and I’m in the minority — and before things get heated up over the next two years — I have something I want to ask so we’ll be square from day one:
Is dissent still patriotic?
Or is it now nothing more than the petulant whining of sore losers? Just wanted to know before I start dissenting on issues such as:
- Robbing from the rich to give to the poor
- Raising the minimum wage of burrito-rolling, grocery-sacking teenagers everywhere
- Eliminating the tax cuts which have spurred the economy to such great heights
- Cutting and running
- Appointing impeached criminals to high ranking committe chairs in the House
- Playing revenge politics

If any Republicans want to gather in protest of raising the wages of the working poor they are certainly free to. Hell, I encourage them- Democrats couldn’t buy that kind of publicity.
So the democrats have no plans for a quick withdrawal from Iraq? I wonder what “quick” means? I wonder what the country would have thought had they known this before the election?
Funny how the democrats had a plan they could share with the President of Iraq but couldn’t (or wouldn’t dare) share with the American people.

You’re right, that is interesting Dianne. I would put a little more stock into it if the name of the Democrat had been revealed though.
Take it easy on the burrito rolling, grocery sacking community. Jobs like these aren’t just for teenagers anymore. Often these jobs are performed by poor college students,trying to make next semesters tuition, the mentally disabled who take pride in their ability to perform even these simple task, and the elderly who need the extra income to help them pay for the rising cost of health care and prescription drugs. I can’t imagine you’d begrudge these folks a few extra dollars a month.
