Election 2006

Pre-Emptive Losing Mode from the Left

I wrote here that if, on Tuesday, Republicans lose one or both houses — we’ll shrug our shoulders, figure out what went wrong, regroup, and then come back stronger in 2008.

On the flip side, if the Democrats fail to capture even one house in tomorrow’s mid-term elections, they’ll take to the streets, they’ll resign from office, they’ll file lawsuits, and they’ll invent consipracy theory after consiparcy theory on how the Republicans “stole” another election. In short, they’ll point finger at everyone but their own failed (or complete lack of) ideas.

It looks like they’re going into pre-emptive lose mode a bit early:

Michael Graham nails the Democrats’ strategy of undermining the election results before they’re tallied:

“Either we win, or you cheated!”

Nancy Pelosi’s doing it, too.

And left-wing groups are threatening to create legal havoc by demanding deadline extensions for absentee ballots.

Notice in all their pot-stirring about voting fraud that they have absolutely nothing to say about the left-wing Acorn voter fraud indictments or absentee ballot fraud or illegal alien voter fraud?

Guess they consider that “good” cheating.

Since 2000, this has been business as usual for Democrats. I don’t know why we’d be surprised when they follow suite after tomorrow (should they fail to win at least one house…although I think they’ll win a slim majority in Congress, but fail to capture the Senate).

  1. If the dems lose tomorrow, Pelosi, herself can take credit. Her extreme left “values” are clearly what will get out the “right” vote. I’ve heard it said that 50% of the public doesn’t even know who she is, but the other 50% are who the voters are and the “right” among them know her well.

I fully expect there to be some violence at the polls tomorrow. This has to be one of the ugliest elections of all time.

  4. Preston,

I stand by my pessimissim. Wanna bet? Somewhere in the country tomorrow there will be fistfights or worse at or near the polling places related to the election and we’ll see it on the tele.

  5. I suppose it could happen somewhere but I doubt we’d see it as a trend. (Except in places where people are asked to wait in 8-hour lines to vote. In which case I think they are pretty much justified- who wouldn’t go ballistic as they witnessed their right to vote taken away one minute at a time?)

  6. Well, just talked to my mom who is in a nursing home in Wisconsin. She voted a straight democrat ticket on a paper ballot. Should make Preston happy..lol
