Wow. What a momentous night here at UrbanGrounds. First I’m named TIME’s Person of the Year for 2006, and now I see that my blog is on the front page of Memeorandum in their Featured Posts section.

Memeorandum is one of my favorite sources for seeing what people are talking/writing about in the blogosphere. The blogosphere generates content, unlike the MSM, in near-real time. Within moments of almost any breaking story or event, someone somewhere is blogging about it. And once the first blog story is posted, it can generate many more angles, original analysis, and insightful commentaty on the same story. All before the MSM has even dispatched a reporter.
I get linked on the front page of Memeorandum from time-to-time, but it’s the first time I’ve seen a blog post appear in the Featured Posts section. I’m continually amazed and thrilled to find out that others are actually reading what I write, and that others are linking back to what I write.
____________
What are “Featured Posts”?
Featured Posts are recent blog posts and articles from sites that have sent a moderate amount of traffic recently to memeorandum. It’s a way for memeorandum to say “thanks for the link” and highlight a few new, topical posts that might have been overlooked.
The number of Featured Posts varies throughout the day. Usually three appear, though occasionally none appear. Like regular memeorandum posts, Featured Posts are selected automatically. New referrals to memeorandum are checked several times hourly.

Well, congrats to me and you, Robbie. I’ve never heard of the memeorandum site site before, as I don’t get around the blogosphere too much. Will have to check them out.
