Excellent and thoughtful post from Good Richard’s Almanac (possibly the last conservative in San Francisco) where he discusses “tearing down the wall” of Sharia law:
Many of us are asking ourselves “Is Islam Evil?” Most of us, loving peace, loathing war, reluctantly answer in the affirmative. The difficulty in answering this question, however, is not in the recognition that Islam is a totalitarian religion - a tyranny - but in asking ourselves, “How then, do we deal with Muslims?”
This question is indeed a difficult one. On one side, we have the ingorant; those who refuse to recognize the brutal nature of this destructive religion. On the other, we have the lazy; those who recognize the threat of Islam, yet call for the destruction of all Muslims. Humanity cannot abide either of these groups.
What then? How are we to deal with members of this totaliltarian religion?
I’ve been thinking on this very topic for quite some time — to Richard’s first question, “Is Islam Evil?”, I believe very strongly in the affirmative that it is. I don’t think I’ve been ambiguous in this belief in my writing.
And trying to answer Richard’s second question, “How then, do we deal with Muslims?”, has been very difficult for me to answer. While I believe Islam to be a force of evil, I hope that many — if not most — Muslims are not evil or bad. But if that’s true…then how can so many be so weak and timid in allowing their religion to be hijacked into something vile?
Richard’s suggestion on how to deal with Islam:
Stop the spread of Sharia law, the instrument of oppression and subjugation. Tear down this wall and let those caged inside taste the waters of Freedom.
If only it were that easy, Richard. If only it were that easy…

The evidence is before us in England, France, Germany, Belgium, and other European countries. What we need to do is not allow to happen in this country what is happening across the pond. We must not allow our will to be broken as was attempted in the case of the flying IMAMs. We must not allow impositions on our public way of life such as allowing segregated hours for them in our public swimming pools and above all else we must watch the ACLU which will try to force ever more new interpretations of the constitution down our throats in the name of discrimination, etc., and if they do, we must reach down in our pockets and support people in communities other than our own if problems arise.
