Katie Rees kissing a girl

When I first posted the story of Katie Rees — the Miss Nevada USA contestant who was dethroned for nude and racy pictures that she posed for before she was Miss Nevada — I introduced the story with the following sentence:

Yeah, that headline should be good for a Google hit or two…

I had no idea that a “hit or two” would turn into thousands-upon-thousands of hits. Before writing about Ms. Rees, I was chugging along with my 1000 or so daily visitors to UrbanGrounds. Look at the graph below, taken from my SiteMeter hit counter this evening:

That “little” spike in traffic? Almost nothing but people googling for “Katie Rees nude pics” or somesuch search string. Perverts.

Same thing happened to me. I went from a lousy 100/day to no less than 900/day this week. All week. Even today.

So, what does this make you? Larry Flynt?

So, what does this make you?

Advantageous?

This blogger boosted his traffic to 15,000 hits by posting on the whole Miss Nevada Katie Rees story about the trashy photos etc. I think it’s crazy how the modern blogosphere works these days. As a little experiment, let’s check how much this post increases blog traffic here. Posted: December 30th, 2006 under

I see Katie is still reeling them in. Maybe, in a month, you can do a “Katie Retrospective”. lol!

Got something you want to say?
