After a two-month sting, the FBI has arrested and charged an Illinois man who wanted to become a jihadist and kill American citizens:

WASHINGTON – A man who authorities said wanted to commit acts of “violent jihad” against civilians was charged Friday in a plot to set off hand grenades in garbage cans at a shopping mall, authorities said.

The man’s name is Derrick Shareef (22), but according to this affidavit on The Smoking Gun, his alias is talib abu salam Ibn Shareef.

Ah, just as I suspected — a Methodist.

According to the FBI affidavit, Shareef:

• Wanted to “commit violent acts of jihad,” and spoke of killing judges and blowing up public buildings.
• Sought “to disrupt Christmas,” adding that, “I swear by Allah man, I’m down for it too, I’m down for the cause, I’m down to live for the cause and die for the cause, man.”
• Prepared a martyr’s videotape in which he let the “enemies of Islam” know that “the time for jihad is now.” He added, “This is a warning to those who disbelieve, that we are here for you, and I am ready to give my life…May Allah protect me on this mission we conduct.”

Missing from all the MSM reports that I’m reading right now? One word: Muslim. Wouldn’t want to piss-off CAIR.

The story says that Shareef’s plan was allegedly “ideologically motivated”. Just so no one is confused, and since the MSM won’t tell you, the ideology in question is Islam. You know, the “Religion of Peace”.
