i agree if it was a male, he would have faced much more. however i find it stupid that in our society we cannot accept a relationship between two people simply because of the age difference, i do know that a thirty year old should not be dating a fifteen year old kid, but at seventeen it should not be considered assault because it is enough age to know what is right or wrong.
