Another unhinged Liberal Professor at Loyola University in Chicago
I’ve written many times that the world of academia is dominated by liberal elitists who don’t just hate the military, but teach that same hate to their students.
In this post, The Anti-military Legacy of Liberal Academia, I wrote:

That comment reminds me that there are many Liberal professors who do both — using their lecturn as a bully-pulpit while teaching that the military is evil and contemptible.
And Dr. June Scorza Terpstra of Loyal University in Chicago (and also teaches at Columbia College in Chicago) wins the award for the most vile professor in America for her latest rant, in which she laments having to teach former Soldiers and Marines in her class:
I knew in that moment that this was what the future of teaching about justice would include: teaching war criminals who sit glaring at me with hatred for daring to speak the truth of their atrocities and who, if paid to, would disappear, torture and kill me. I wondered that night how long I really have in this so called “free†country to teach my students and to be with my children and grandchildren.
The American military and mercenary soldiers who “sacrificed†their lives did not do so for the teacher’s freedom to teach the truth about the so-called war on terror, or any of US history for that matter. They sacrificed their lives, limbs and sanity for money, some education and the thrills of the violence for which they are socially bred. Sacrificing for the “bling and booty†in Iraq or Afghanistan, Philippines, Grenada, Central America, Mexico, Somalia, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, or any of the other numerous wars and invasions spanning US history as an entity and beginning with their foundational practice of killing the Indians and stealing their land.
Wow. Just wow. I’m all for free-speech, which means that I don’t think any law should be made to prevent her from spewing her vile hate-speech. But that doesn’t mean that I think a University should employ her to teach our children.
When you’re a college professor, and you openly spew this kind of shit, how can any student who is a veteran, a prospective soldier, a National Guardsman or Reservist, or any other student who is openly pro-military get fair treatment in your classroom (that’s a rhetorical question, because obviously, the answer is “they can’t”):
And now, here they sit in my course on social justice, terrorist war criminals, wanting high paying “criminal justice†jobs in a university Justice Studies program. They want approval, appreciation and honors for terrorism, torture, and murder. They want a university degree so they can get an even higher salary terrorizing more people around the world with security companies such as Blackwater or Halliburton. They want that appropriately named “sheepskin†so they can join the CIA, FBI, and other police and track down and terrorize US residents here.
I wonder what kind of grades those “terrorist war criminals” received in her class? Well, at least her bias is well-documented when they go to the Dean to protest their grades.
I hope she falls down the stairs in the quad and breaks her fucking neck. Yeah, I don’t mind when terrible things happen to terrible people, and I often openly root for it to happen, too.
(MyPetJawa satirically hopes someone on capus does the world a favor and pushes her down that flight of stairs — make sure and actually read his disclaimer in context of that statement).
And less you think that this is an isolated incident, the proud professor has her own website filled with her hatred for the students she’s supposed to be teaching and grading.
My favorite is this one, co-authored by her husband Husayn Al-Kurdi (what? She’s married to a Muslim? Who’d a fucking thought it?), on why we shouldn’t celebrate Memorial Day:

Don’t bring these fucker killer torturers back to this country to torture their wives, children, and mothers in their homes. Don’t let them back in this country? How about we send you and your hubby to teach at Tehran University and not let you back into this country?

Presumably, if these men have been to Iraq they’re not children. But yeah, she does sound unhinged.
I wonder why she wants to teach Criminal Justice at all- it doesn’t sound like she’s really down with the mission. Oh well, she’s only a part-timer and after this publicity she’ll surely be a no-timer.

I applaud her honesty. Many, many college professors agree with her, but are too cowardly to say it out loud, preferring to stab their military and former military students in the back.
It does seem to me that if this individual is allowed to continue to teach then her employer is violating civil rights laws by allowing a protected group (veterans) to be discriminated against based on their protected status.
I bet her school has rules against ‘hate speech’ also. Think they’ll be applied in this case?
At least we know what she and her employer stands for.
Perhaps a more sympathetic stance would better serve her students.

As an Iraqi American, I have concluded that there are four categories of military servicemen:
1. Psychopaths with lust for blood
2. Christian fanatics brought up with hatred for Arabs & Muslims

4. A volunteer who got caught by surprise to be sent to Iraq against his will to fight a war for a government with an agenda for the Middle East.
The 4th category is a small percentage of the US military forces. Most recruits are from the first three categories – especially those with lust for blood and those who have been taught since childhood to hate Arabs and Muslims.

This woman is now teaching at University of Phoenix and was scheduled to teach one of my final classes that begins on April 7th. After researching one of my former teachers, James Brey, and finding that he was fired from Florida State for embezzlement and went on to teach me ETHICS, of all things, I now research all my professors. I actually found this article after asking UoP to switch me from her class.
I am a military wife and firm supporter of our military. I chose to be removed from her classes based on her hateful rhetoric that she spews across the internet against ALL military personnel.
Doesnt it seem odd that just less than a year ago, she was teaching at Northeastern Illinois and she’s now at Axia/ UoP?
I am a firm supporter of Dr. Terpstra. You have not experienced anything until you have stepped into one of her classrooms. I am very glad, pleased and thankful that I was able to register and take 5 of her courses. Dr. Terpstra is exactly what the States’ educational system is in need of; more educators (and intelligentsia) like herself, who are willing to speak the truth AND put it out for those around.

You have to have a screw loose to take 5 courses from anyone instructor. No legitimate institution of higher learning would allow it. It is not an educator/student relationship but a guru/disciple one. Please seek help before posting such information and the same goes for the rest of you Terp whackjobs.
i am currently taking one of her classes and yes she is an extremest so are others.. all anyone can do is take a little of her and a little of someone else and put the pieces of the puzzle together…. we are living in a lie that the US governement has set up.. and she maybe unconventional to other and she may be sheding light from a different direction but it in no way makes it wrong… it is up to the listener for what they will do with that information… if you want to follow everything she says to the “T” then you will be just another drone.. she is an amazing teacher and it is what you take out of her class that can make you a better person.. i have family members in the military, just because she teaches something contrary to what i believe i should just shut her out..? i support my family but i want the truth as well and it has been made public that the US goverment doesnt tell us anything.. so thank DR T.. keep showing us a different perspective and letting us make out our decision!!
I made a comment earlier today and it mysteriously disappeared. Maybe there is a glitch in the computer software running this site. I made reference to errors in fact stated by Mr. Cooper about June Terpstra. He alleged that her husband, Husayn al-Kurdi is a Muslim. This is, in fact, not true. Mr. al-Kurdi does not, and never did, follow the Islamic faith. Then, Mr. Cooper advises that June Terpstra and Mr. al-Kurdi should move to Iran and not be allowed back in the US. Neither Ms. Terpstra nor Mr. al-Kurdi are admirers of Iran’s theocracy or the anti-Arab actions perpetrated by Iran after the takeover of the 1979 Iran revolution by the imperialistic ayatollahs. If one professes to be a journalist, as in the case with Mr. Cooper, facts should over-ride political stances. Integrity and truth are more important than one’s political ideology, regardless of one’s polticial slant. I sincerely hope this message remains and the possible compter software glitch is fixed. I’m an atheist who grew up Muslim and I agree 100% with this article. The US military is filled with racist hillbillies driven with insane cultural bloodlust and ready to kill hajis/ragheads of all age groups and both sexes. You can find reports on mainstream news sources of how British commanders were horrified by the tactics employed by the Americans who fought on their side. The war has left a million Iraqi widows, five million orphans and at least 3 million refugees internal & external. The excesses committed by individual soldiers against Iraqi civilians are far too numerous to count and most of them got a slap on the wrist.
The fact that you go “aha she’ married a Muslim, thought so!” is proof that the US military is not staffed with chivalrous knights in shining armor but with racist lunatics who hate the people they occupy and cannot be trusted not to commit atrocities against them. If the work you and your fellow soldiers do helps Muslims, why do you dismiss and discount their take on the war and death and misery you brought unsolicited to their country?

It becomes clear that since the Iraq invasion US soldiers have acquired a character and attitude not unlike Israeli soldiers have towards the Arabs they occupy and abuse.

So? *Everybody* kills more of themselves than others do. I read that since 9/11, over 120,000 people in the US have been murdered, and only 30 of them were killed in Islamist attacks. But obviously the 3,000 people who died on 9/11 had a much bigger impact on the emotions of Americans than any 3,000 or even 30,000 murders in our communities across the country. I have heard the line that “Muslims kill each other so much what’s the big deal if we kill some?” Well for starters, when you kill people, you tend to kill hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions (SE Asia), whereas they kill a lot fewer because the tools available to them are sloppy. And by that dismissive logic, what’s the big deal about 9/11? Yanks kill each other all the time what’s so bad about some foreigners rolling in for a little fun of their own? It’s not as if those 3,000 killed were Canadians or French or Australians, who clearly value their fellow citizens’ lives more (by not killing them as much as we do in the US of A and abroad in wars of aggression) and are therefore more more precious blood than rowdy gun-crazy life-cheapening American citizens like you and me.
Humans are tribal by nature and when you go and kill them as an outsider it provokes a different and more defensive reaction than if it happened from within. We know it from 9/11, the James Byrd killing and Rodney King, etc. You can call it hypocrisy but you can also call it human nature too.

I believe there are aid organizations that provide free cameras to civilians in the Palestinian territories–maybe they should extend the service to the *other* lands in the region ravaged by the neoconservative holocaust.
I win, because I came here, essentially called US soldiers and vets in Iraq as racist Stormtroopers who often deliberately kill civilians because they hate them with a redneck passion, and nobody had the balls to answer. Because in an unregulated form like the internet, Political Correctness doesn’t win, and that includes being PC about the nature of the soldier in Iraq. And that Iraqi-American “Ahmed” above supports my assessment of the US soldier. My parents don’t come from a country that’s had its children killed by the US or Israel so I have no personal axe to grind–I just know how to react to inhuman, disgusting behavior from a culture (Dixie/US army culture) that celebrates killing for its own sake, regardless of the casus belli. If you “served” in Iraq you know I’ve got your number and you can’t bullshit me with the soldier-whitewashing propaganda that works on the Today Show and Jay Leno. Even if CNN and Fox don’t report it, we still get a lot of details about how American soldiers in Iraq are murdering, raping pigs all civilians try to avoid.
If you think anything less than 90% of the world (the part that cares either way) is happy about Iraqis having success in fighting back arrogant, bigoted aggression you’ve got another thing coming. All this propagnada about “we’re heroes and everybody likes us except a few bad apples and the followers of an evil religion” is just to kid yourself about the horrible things you did in Iraq. You have to push those thoughts to the back of your head by constantly telling yourself “I was doing God’s work killing those civilians and benign resistance fighters,” it’s the only thing that might stop you from drowning out your horrible memories with booze, drugs, or becoming another serial killer vet.

Go sign up so you can be shipped overseas where you can life out your life’s purpose and eat an IED, so you can come back a deformed pug ugly freak that your fellow countrymen don’t give a shit about (that’s why they let half a million of you sleep on the streets, didn’t give you armor, don’t treat most PTSD cases, etc). You (red state soldiers) have made yourselves cheap mercenaries who will never question the policy you fight for, and as a result your society and elected representatives are treating your as cheap toys they got for Christmas. The Red states take in more Federal tax dollars than they contribute, because you rely on military bases for your economy since Dixie was never a hotbed of creativity or technical prowess. I read The Cotton Kingdom by Frederick Law Olmsted, so I know how deeply ingrained in the South the celebration of death and tribal warfare and guns is.
It doesn’t take a genius to see that most Americans, when it comes to anything beyond rhetoric, care about as much for the welfare of the soldiers and vets as those soldiers who believe neocon propaganda about the Middle East care about the Arabs they kill. You can’t hate and kill others and expect *real* love except from other haters in the small shit southern towns you live in.
