Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 23rd, 2007 | Trackback

If it’s a pitt bull, then you know it is dangerous. If it is out attacking people, it was not properly secured. Case closed.

The Nutroots Wants to Shut Down FOX News

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 22nd, 2007 | Trackback

I’m not sure what the Nutroots is more upset about — the fact that FOX News is hosting the debate, or that they weren’t asked to (I”m betting it’s equal parts of each). After all, it’s “their” party now, and they can “take you out” if you disagree with them.

The “nigga” culture that Mr. Parks describes is a big part of why I’m tuning out the NFL and the NBA more-and-more. I’m tired of teams like the Cincinnati Benglas having 10 players arrested for various thug-crimes in a single season — and not doing a single serious thing to punsih or deter this behavior.

When Bill Simmons is writing about basketball, there are few people anywhere who are better at what they do than Bill is at what he does.

Whenever I ride over these flyovers, I’m always exceptionally cautious, and I always envision what would happen if I didn’t make the curve and hit that wall. My vision is exactly what happend to that rider last night.

Back to the Moon

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 21st, 2007 | Trackback

On my last trip to the moon I didn’t get to stay the whole day and had to share my accommodations with another man. If I could go back, I would expect not only a larger room, but a longer moment to gaze at the stars and the cloudy blue ball that should only be mankind’s starter home.

Texas Death Row: Newton Anderson

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 20th, 2007 | Trackback

Anderson was supposed to be in jail on a previous 10 year conviction for — you guessed it — burglary. But he was let out early becauce he was probably not deemed to be a further “danger to society”. Three months after he was paroled from prison, Anderson killed the Cobbs.

George F. Will Calls Rep. Ron Paul a “Cheerful Anachronism”

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 19th, 2007 | Trackback

I’m still undecided as to whether or not I’m going to support Rep. Paul in his bid for the GOP nomination…but he’s on a very short list of two right now (John McCain being the other).

If Murtha gets such a wide latitude, than what say you to the words of Rep. Johnson?

Cabbie Runs Over Patrons After Argument About Religion

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 19th, 2007 | Trackback

at the heart of this story is an argument over religion that resulted in the cab driver trying to run down two of his passengers (he only managed to get one of them).

Except, oddly enough, the paper doesn’t mention which religion was being argued. Any guesses before you read the cabbie’s name?

Barak Obama: Taking Credit for the Work of Others?

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 19th, 2007 | Trackback

If there’s a Q&A session, I’ll see if I can muscle my way to the front of the line (shouldn’t be too hard to do in a crowd full of Austin hippies and granola crunchers) and ask him if he believes that Hazel Johnson deserves any credit for her role in the Altgeld asbestos story, and if so, why he didn’t give her credit in his book?
