Quote of the Day

Because a symbolic victory in the fight over the Iraq war is so much better than an actual victory in the fight in Iraq — it’s not just that the Democrats don’t have a plan for victory in Iraq (they don’t), but they actually don’t want us to win in Iraq.

Weekend Reading: Is Rep. John Murtha “all there”?

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 17th, 2007 | Trackback

In a US Congress (both houses) full of incompetent and often times deplorable politicians, Rep. Murtha is the most despicable and vile of them all — not just as a politician, but as a human being.

After completing their investigation on the matter, Manhart has been demoted to Senior Airman (from E-5 to E-4), and her active duty status has been reverted to National Guard status.

Remember when the new Democratic leadership promised to drain the swamp of corruption, and to run the “cleanest Congress evah”?

Well, if you haven’t figured it out yet — they lied.

Dr. June Scorza Terpstra: Insane with Anti-Military Hatred

And yes, I am advocating that she be fired. If she was using this type of bias and language against Muslim students, or black students, or gay students, you can bet your ass that she’d be fired yesterday. But since it’s directed at military/veteran students, it’s getting a free pass?

Rudy Giuliani: Congress Should Make Decisions, not Comments

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 15th, 2007 | Trackback

I won’t vote for Rudy Giuliani for President if he wins the GOP nomination because he never served in the US Military.

But that doesn’t mean that I don’t like the man, especially when he says what needs saying (from an interview on Larry King Live)

Army Giving Former Criminals a Second Chance

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 14th, 2007 | Trackback

I had a criminal record when I enlisted in the service. My littel brother had a more serious criminal record when he enlisted. I wouldn’t say that I was on a fast track to nowhere when I enlisted, but I’d say that my little brother might have been on his way to lifetime of trouble had he not enlisted.

Cold Weather Forces Cancelation of Hearing on Global Warming

That’s just funny now matter how you swing on the issue of Global Warming (there appears to be two main camps according to the MSM, the “We’re All Going to Melt if We Don’t Change Our Evil Ways”, and the “Holocaust Deniers” groups).

Why People Love Dogs

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 13th, 2007 | Trackback

We don’t have kids. We have dogs instead — in addition to Otis (3) and Jackie (10), we also have another Beagle, Kosmo (6), which was my Valentine’s gift from my wife the year before we got married. But they are very much a part of our family.

Rep. Charles Norwood Jr of Georgia Succumbs to Cancer

Posted by Robbie Cooper on February 13th, 2007 | Trackback

Rep. Charles Norwood has died of cancer today. I didn’t know much about the man, but in addition to being a politician, he was also a brother-in-arms, and that’s a good enough measuer of a man to know that I probably would have liked him:

Ok, I don’t know if Nagin has blamed President Bush yet, but you know that idiot is riding around the scene trying to find someone to blame…
