If elected President, Sen. Hillary Clinton says that she forsees a “remaining military as well as political mission” in Iraq, and says she would keep a reduced but significant military force there to fight Al Qaeda:

She said in the interview that there were “remaining vital national security interests in Iraq” that would require a continuing deployment of American troops.

The United States’ security would be undermined if parts of Iraq turned into a failed state “that serves as a petri dish for insurgents and Al Qaeda,” she said. “It is right in the heart of the oil region. It is directly in opposition to our interests, to the interests of regimes, to Israel’s interests.”

Ouch.

That’s gotta sting Madam Pelosi — who has already declared herself The Most Powerful Woman in America. Evah.

It sounds like Mrs. Clinton plans on showing you who’s really running the war — something President Bush has been ineffective at doing (the need to figuratively slap Madam Speaker back in place).

This doesn’t square too well with the Everybody-out-of-Iraq-by-2008 plan that Speaker General Pelosi is pushing.

But give Sen. Clinton some credit here — she’s a master at reading polls and gauging the American pulse (well, at least her husband is). And she knows that Americans did not give the Democrats a mandate for defeat in Iraq. And the “let’s take our ball and go home” plan being proferred by every Democrat with a microphone in their face is a plan for defeat.

I think this will serve her well in upcoming debates. When questions about “How do you plan to deal with al Qaeda?” are asked, she’ll be able to say that we are still in Iraq taking the fight to al Qaeda. While Barrack and Edwards will be left with, “If we just pull out and leave them alone, maybe they’ll leave us alone”.

The Pledge of Resistance…

We believe that as people living
in the United States it is our
responsibility to resist the injustices
done by our government,
in our names
Not in our name
will you wage endless war
there can be no more deaths
no more transfusions
of blood for oil

Whether you like it or not ProseBH — the securing of your saftey, freedom, and liberty will continue in your stead, if not in your name. And it will be done by better men and women than yourself.

Anybody still spewing out the “no blood for oil” talking point is a mindless idiot. The only people more idiotic than those saying it are those who actually believe it.

To me, Hillary Clinton is a serious, trustworthy individual. She may have some historical baggage, but she is a far better candidate than Ron Paul. Or Obama.

Hillary is certainly no fool. Edwards hasn’t got a chance against her and Obama is probably toast too. All she needs to do to solidify her nomination is choose Richardson as her running mate.

For those with long memories, this is Reversal #1 of my previous prediction that Obama would take the nomination but that’s before Richardson declared. lol

You don’t think that such a position will hurt her in the primaries?

This position definitely makes her more palatable to Americans with any sense of reality, but the political extremes typically own the primaries.

Heck, the moonbats are already picketing Pelosi’s house because she hasn’t gotten the troops home yet.

I could be overestimating the impact of the extreme left on the Demo primaries, but I think she’s just opened a whole can of Nutroots ire.

New book on Hillary Clinton available on Amazon, “Hillary Clinton Nude: Naked Ambition, Hillary Clinton And America’s Demise.” Book presents a non-partisan case against a second Clinton presidency in America.

Hillary Clinton is not to be trusted on Iraq. She has yet to repudiate her pro-war vote.

Got something you want to say?
