The headline should have had a question mark after it. I'd like to hear what Shep Smith (presumably) was saying at the time the headline was flashed on the screen. News is one thing, commentary shows are another. Usually, Shep Smith is fair and balanced.

Preston --- I think Jim's point about Chelsea joining the military is to point out how often the Bush daughters --- and by extension, their father --- are criticized because they haven't signed up.

I think Fox News is fair to conservatives and Republicans and balances out the lopsided Liberal perferential treatment from the entirety of the rest of the MSM.

But I don't think they are impartial --- they undoubtably lean to the right. I fully acknowledge and appreciate that fact.

But I also fully ackowledge and understand that they don't lean nearly as far to the right as CBS, ABC, Reuters, and the Associated Press lean to the Left.

Robbie, Dianne:

I know you think Fox is fair and balanced but can you imagine the GOP receiving this kind of treatment?

Unless Chelsa joins Hillary will have no crediablity as CinC.

A. Chelsea is an adult and Hillary can't compel her to do anything she doesn't want to.
B. Membership on the Armed Services Committe lends quite a bit of credibility compared to, for instance, Governor of MA or Mayor of NYC.
C. Does this standard apply to other politicians?

Sorry, but of all the democratic candidates, I would vote for Hillary.

Why? Because she's a damn good politician. You have to be good at talking out of both sides of your mouth, know what to say and when to say it, tell everyone what they want to hear (even if you contradict yourself sometimes), and you have to have a healthy dose of larceny in your cold, cold heart.

Otherwise, the job of President will tear you up and spit you out.

There is no candidate in either party that is 100% honest, has never contradicted themselves, and has never pandered to special interest groups. The reality is that it just isn't possible to get very far without those questionable traits.

And I honestly believe that Hillary would not hesitate to kick ass if need be.... I can't say that for any other candidate running on her side of the aisle.

So if Hillary is the Dem nominee, and the Rep Party doesn't come up with a candidate who is NOT a socially conservative zealot (as opposed to fiscally conservative), then I would vote for Hillary.

Personally? I think it's time the republicans turned the whole religious morals police loose and started concentrating on Americans who want to keep more of their own salaries and protect our interests within our borders and wherever else threats may pop up.
