Michael WareFrom a commenter at Ace of Spades HQ:

Q — What’s the difference between Michael Ware and Rosie O’Donnell?

A — One’s a frothing-at-the-mouth, left-leaning anti-American propagandist with no journalistic integrity who doesn’t deserve a platform and the other is a fat annoying lesbian.

Michael Ware, a reporter anti-war activist from CNN is a douchebag. This is not an opinion — it is fact.

During a live press conference in Bagdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.”

Senators McCain and Graham flew into Iraq and drove into Bagdad, making stops at an open market and a joint Iraq/American military security outpost before appearing at the press conference.

This is not the first time Michael Ware has taken issue with Senator McCain’s comments about early progress in Iraq. Last week, after Senator McCain told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he needed to catch up on the news coming out of Iraq, Michael Ware responded, saying:

“I don’t know what part of Neverland Senator McCain is talking about when he says we can go strolling in Baghdad.”

Michael Ware has also publicly expressed his views on the war last year in an interview with Bill Maher, saying, “I’ve been given a front-row ticket to watch this slow-motion train wreck … I try to stay as drunk for as long as possible while I’m here … In fact, I’m drinking now.”

But FOX News is the “biased” news organization, right?

Hmmm. Ultra-rightwing blog cites unknown “official” critical of Ware. Yup… that certainly isn’t in and of itself “biased” reporting now is it? Fuck you guys are stupid.

Lets say for a second this is true, and really… I wouldn’t be surprised if it is. Ware has actually been in Iraq for months, and has acutally witnessed what’s going on. I don’t give a rats ass if McCain is a Senator, veteran, or Jesus fucking Christ himself… the asshole lied when he said ““There are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods, today.”

When you speak such bullshit… you get called on it. I can’t wait till somebody says something like this to your retard-in-chief.

Kougar? Is that you Michael Ware? If not, then you’re both drunk, blabbering idiots. You should look each other up.

WOW Kougar! How do you really feel. Perhaps I might have used the tact that it had been almost a month since McCain had last visited Iraq. I would hope for the benefit of the Iraqi civilians who are striving for democratic rule that some of what McCain said is true. The fact that Embassy personnel, inside the Green Zone, were ordered last week to wear flak jackets and helmets anytime the venture out of doors may suggest otherwise. Perhaps the truth of our progress there lies somewhere between McCain’s and Ware’s perspective. I would hope that 08 hopeful McCain was not taken around to areas that were unsafe on his visit. Perhaps he did not see everything that Ware has witness to on a daily basis. Until the body count drops from the current 100 per month we are seeing in the tragic losses to our brave troops I might suggest the surge has room for enormous improvement. …as for FOX news Robbie, I don’t think even FOX believes they are not reporting from a specific point of view. That is their niche and that voice is needed. To suggest they are unbiased… well that doesn’t make much sense.

Can you imagine the DNC receiving this kind of treatment?

I love it. McCain takes a stroll with a hundred troops and apache helicopters, and then whines when somebody points out that he’s an ass. Can you imagine the DNC behaving like that?

besides “republicans are wrong” what is the democratic platform? ok, we should leave iraq; fine, i believe the right wants that too, just not without a sense of completion.
this guy is just like hillary and bill and the kennedys and gore too. why believe in anything? no matter how informed an opinion, it’s simply evidence of discrimination. is all discrimination really bad? i don’t believe so.
i watched both clips and when ware tells bill that maintaining a u.s. military presence will only encourage the insurgency, he follows by reminding us that exiting now will have disastorous consequences. so the question beggs asking: what the fuck do we do?
well, mr. ware welcome to the real conflict. i challenge you sir. use all of that internally developed knowledge to make some inteligent suggestions. how do you see the war playing out successfully? should we prematurely withdrawl forces? is the long term stability of iraqi society more important than bipartisan bickering and pressure from public opinion?
the answers aren’t so black and white, are they? let me guess, you’ll continue to be a pretendajournalist and tell us all that reporting “news” is your patriotic contribution. i understand sir, it is easier on the conscience to point out what others do wrong than to attempt doing anything yourself. you fit well on cnn and the bill maher show. when i need a good childish chuckle, i’ll make sure and tune you in.

Adam, I have no idea what the heck you’re talking about, but take a deep breath.

Robbie - too bad you and the other rightwing bloggers got caught up in this lie - did you see the videotape that establishes that this is made up?

dan, “inhale” thanks for the attempt at advice “exhale” (aaaaahhhhh)… but if you can’t understand what i’m talking about, i’ll give you the liberal version.
as dumbed-down as i can make it: the democratic agenda is made by chickenshit pussies like you and ware, who stand for nothing except “standing for nothing”. i hope you didn’t need to think to hard on that.
how about you share some of your politcal ideas with us churchill, and then tell us why we should care what you have to say. tell us why you or your ideas about a guy like mr. mcain are so well thought out.
oh wait, to suggest original ideas might require you to think instead of telling us we should breathe. wow genius, did you come up with that alone or have you previously consulted a physician?
let me guess, you and all your buddies believe: war is bad, bush is dumb, we should help people and eradicate disease. christ, you’re the next president right here posting w/ me on the net. can i get that address where to send my campaign contribution? what a scholarly leader you would make. isn’t it about time you go back watching american idol, and leave political discourse to folks who desire understanding.

Adam - Where do you come up with this stuff? What does this all have to do with the fact that Robbie just got punked by Drudge, and so did the rest of the right-wing gullibles who are so desperate to believe that things are good in Iraq that they are pleased when McCain takes a walk with half the army shielding him?

Try to focus, young man. I prefer to show how foolish you are one issue at a time.

If you want to read my views, feel free to visit my blog.

Dan — in this particular case, it does appear that either Drudge’s info was wrong, or he just doesn’t have the proof to back up his claim.

But that doesn’t diminish that Ware is an anti-war activist posing as a reporter. He’s little more than a useful tool in supporting and disseminating the enemies propaganda.

What makes you say that? Reliable information like you wrote this post about?

Ware is on the ground in Iraq. He knows a hell of a lot more about what goes on there then you do, I do, or John “you and what army” McCain.

I really don’t think Ware is anti-war, but he is doing his job in reporting the massive failure that the Bush administration is spending our money and lives on.

If you want to read my views, feel free to visit my blog.

Nobody reads your blog, therefore, no one is interested in your views. Take a hint.

KMA — I’m actually guilty of reading Dan’s blog. It mostly touches on the local politics and issues in Kansas City — even if I disagree with his politics, I enjoy reading alternative view points, especially when the writer is passionate about the topic.

Dan — Ware is a thug who spends more time in the lobby of the Green Zone hotel than he does on the streets. He gets most of his “leads” and “stories” from his contacts in the “insurgency”.

As Jules Crittenden writes, Michael Ware is “The Newsman More Terrorists Trust“.

Massive failure? You’re joking right? We’ve ousted Saddam Hussein from his reign of real terror. We’ve helped establish the first democratically elected government ever in the region.

We are building infrastructre, such as hospitals, schools, and water treatment facilities.

And the current surge is working — if you believe the word of the Generals on the ground in Iraq, or the MIL Bloggers who are embedded with US troops or serving on active duty in the sand (for the record, I do believe them — because, unlike Rosie, I’m more inclined to believe the good guys [our soldiers] than the terrorists).

Thanks for the defense, Robbie. While we’re in the midst of the love fest, let me return the compiment - your blog does bring stuff to my attention I would otherwise miss, and, even though we disagree 90+ percent of the time, that’s because we’re both discussing the points where our philosphies bump against each other. I imagine that, in fact, we probably agree on about 90% of the things that matter, but are less controversial.

I’m going to jump into total honesty here - I don’t know who to believe. No, I don’t believe that Ware, even if he is trying, is able to deliver a complete and accurate story on what is going on broadly in Iraq. OTOH, I definitely do not believe the rah-rah mil bloggers - according to them, things are always getting better and next month we won’t have any casualties because everyone will be singing ecumenical hymns together. I can’t believe the brass anymore, since they’ve been caught lying dozens of times on issues minor and major.

And I certainly will never believe anything McCain says, now that he has been caught lying about how safe the neighborhoods are, behind the protection of a hundred brave soldiers.

i’ll admit i was interested in your views so i went to the blog , but i’ve heard this all before elsewhere. your views appear to be “republicans are wrong”.now that i’ve returned from the utopia that is your warmfuzzy fest, i am still confronted with good ol’ reality.
you don’t like bush, libertarians are immoral, the cardinals are your team. ok, i think i hit the nail right on the head. i knew i sized you up right when i started reading “5 important songs” and picturing this forty-something cool guy loading up his new $300 ipod with his collection of 500 cds that would sell for $8.45 on ebay. “c’mon road warriors, ragin’ road trip through missouri.” you won back points with brubeck and take5 until you started with the synopsis of the jams.
let me clue you in: cool you are not, neither is your blog, your home state (nor city). your lame ass views suggest you do a lot of truth seeking, on tv. informed, maybe; mislead absolutely!
since you want to stay w/ one issue at a time, i’ll revisit ware. who cares if he was drinking on the bill maher show? who cares if all the red states “gullibles” believe a hoax? the point is: ware sucks and he’s just an accurate depiction of how the liberal agenda is “republicans are bad, that’s enough substance.” i guess one could answer every question with “bush is stupid”, but it just isn’t worth my time to listen. can you honestly tell this board that substantial human progress hasn’t been made in iraq as a direct result of the american presence? go ahead, show me how foolish i am.
oh, one more thing, in response to “how to appreciate bush” public opinion is not the best indicator of the success of a presidential administration. history will tell us. if bush gets his way history will say iraq was the beginning of demoracy in the middle east. unattainable maybe but noble for sure. if you get your way, history will say america didn’t have the stomach to finish the tough job it started in iraq so it abandoned iraqis for the second time. again, pick an issue and show me how foolish i am, you sissy.

Adam - thanks for reading my site - sorry if it didn’t measure up to what you’re looking for. I doubt, however, that there’s much point to debating you - we seem to approach the process differently, if you think that the essence of persuasion is misreading my points and calling me a sissy. So, rather than cluttering Robbie’s site with the kind of debate we’d be likely to have, I’ll pass.

Got something you want to say?
