And back to work

Me and my lovely wife on a secluded beach on the island of Vieguez
The worst part of a vacation almost always seems to be the final day, which is the travel day. Ours consisted of a 3 hour drive from Rincon to the airport in San Juan, long airport security lines, a 4.5 hour flight to Houston, a near-missed connection to Austin, and then finally getting in last night around 11:00 p.m.
I’m back at work today, wading through a mass of emails.
I’ll resume regular blogging shortly.

Daddy’s home!!!!!
Hah!
I still haven’t seen our mutts yet — we got in too late last night to pick them up from our friends who are boarding them for us (one friend took Otis, the Lab/Mastiff mix, while another friend watched our two beagles).
We’ll go pick them up after work today.
There’s going to be a whole lot of slobbering at your house tonight!
I almost forgot what it was like. Work until 6 p.m., rush home, get the dogs to the sitter, pay the bills, pack, drop into bed at midnight the day before vacation, then return home late the night before going back to work the next day knowing you had to make up for all the work that piled up while you were gone.
