You gotta admire the temerity of the Democrats.
They’re plan for losing the War on Terror is to stand with their fingers in their ears (so they don’t have to listen to the Generals who are actually, you know, winning the war on terror), while yelling over-and-over again that the war is lost:
House Speaker to Skip Gen. David Petraeus’ Briefing on the Progress of the Troop Escalation
As the House and Senate prepare to vote this week on the final conference report onPelosipa the $124 billion troop funding bill — which would also mandate that U.S. combat troops begin withdrawing from Iraq on October 1 at the latest — Gen. David Petraeus is scheduled to come to the Hill tomorrow to brief lawmakers on the progress of the recent troop escalation.
I mean, if you’ve already declared the war lost, why even go through the motions of listening to the men over there who are fighting the war? Especially when you have so many dictators and terror-supporting leaders to capitulate to, and so little time…

Patraeus promised to tell them if his plan wasn’t working.
Apparently, Pelosi is afraid to hear from him.
She’s disgusting.
This spending bill is just another way to stall funding for the military. Remember the “slow bleed” strategy Murtha came up with? In fact, they have already banged out the details of another piece of veto bait and this current piece of legislative garbage hasn’t even made it to the Presidents desk yet.
The Demorats must have this war fail in order to have that one big “I told you so” moment before the ‘08 election. But they are also savvy enough to know that they can’t just pull the plug without some serious backlash from the electorate.
The truth is, a lot of the “moderates” (that typically make their decision as to who they vote for based on how they “feel” about the political climate at the time of the election) were only in the Defeat-O-Crats corner during the last election cycle because they were voting against Bush, not voting for Demoncrats. Since Bush is already a lame duck President, the Democrat Party doesn’t have that working for them this time around.
Thanks for the ping, and I have bookmarked this site. I look forward to exchanging ideas and thoughts in the future. Keep up the good work!
Harry Reid: “The War Is Lost
It seems that the large number of civilian casualties in Iraq over the last couple of days has definitely had an emboldening effect on the enemy. No, not the radical Islamic terrorists in the Middle East; the political terrorists in the radical left wi…
‘The Demorats must have this war fail in order to have that one big “I told you so†‘
Of course the huge irony is that the majority of these Democrats who want to say ‘I told you so’ told us with their votes that it was a good idea to go to war.
Their lame excuse is that they were out-smarted by President Bush.
they were out-smarted by President Bush.
You don’t get to read that phrase everyday.
Does it alter your thesis to know that she met spoke privately with General Petraeus for 30 minutes on Tuesday? Or did Malkin and ABC News not mention that part?
And do you know for certain that the scope of their converstation on Tuesday was the same information and data that he covered in his briefing?
Maybe he told her in private that he thought she was a defeat-o-crat windbag and that he would still try to do everything in his power to win this war despite her obstructionism and defeatism.
Did she have a serious doctor’s appt or something like that? Only excuse I can think of, considering this is the most important issue of the day. Her intent was to snub him in public, which is exactly what she did.
So we’re winning the war? What facts do you base that on? What do you know that this guy doesn’t?
