Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m., my wife and I are boarding a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico for seven days of lounging on the beach, snorkeling, diving, drinking mojitos, boogie boarding, surfing, and general rest and relaxation.
Our itinerary is to tour the forts of Old San Juan on our first day and perhaps do a little casino gambling on our first (and only) night in San Juan.
The next morning, we’re heading to the port city of Fajardo, where we’ll catch a ferry over to the island of Vieques, where we’ll spend three nights. Some of the world’s most beautiful and deserted beaches await, plus a planned night-time kayak trip in the ‘Bahia Fosforescente’ (Bioluminescent Bay) at Puerto Mosquito.
After Vieques, we’ll head back to the mainland, and drive all the way across the island (about 100 miles) to the surfer’s paradise of Rincon. Three more nights here to surf, relax, surf, and relax from our waterside guesthouse on Sandy Beach.
Then back to San Juan and back home.
I might attempt a few posts during the trip — mostly some “live vacation blogging”, but nothing substantial.

I’ll pass you some of my luck at the casino. In the last year I won $2,000, $1,400 and $400 in that order. I’ve only been those three times..hmmm seems like the next one might be only $40 though..lol
Have bunches of fun and be careful.
Have a great time, and think of us little people from time to time!
Sounds great- I might make that trip this winter.
(I hope you don’t mind if I flirt with other conservative blogs while you’re gone. A guy has to keep up his outrage level to a certain point, you know.)
I hope you and your wife have a wonderful time.
I wrote a few posts in advanced before I left, and set at least one to be posted each morning while I’m gone.
But by all means…please take a look around at some others!
