The knee-jerk Left-o-sphere has their collective panties in a twist because a Republican — Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) — quoted Nathan Bedford Forrest, founder of the KKK, whilst on the House floor.
The quote he used?
“Git thar the fustest with the mostest” — one of the most famous quotes regarding war strategy. I heard this quote so often when I was in the Army, that its source was irrelevant and unimportant.
But don’t let context or obvious facts get in the way of manufactured/faked outrage:
- There is nothing offensive about the quote itself (unless you’re a War-is-Always-Wrong liberal, whereas anything that is pro-war is offensive to you).
- The quote in question? Nathan Bedford Forrest, the Klansman in question, never even said those words.
- That an actual Klansman is actually on the floor of the House — Sen./Kleagle Robert Byrd (D-WV).
Does the left get this riled up when somebody quotes the Grand Kleagle from West Virginia on the floor? Do you think the Left can even detect their own hypocrisy on this one?
_______
Yes, this one gets the “Stupid News” tag.

Did the left even raise an eyebrow when Byrd went on television and referred to people as “white niggers”? Nope.
