Randall Wayne MaysOn Wednesday, cop killer Charles Edward Smith was executed 18 years after he shot to death Sheriff Tim Hudson in Bakersfield, TX.

The following morning another cop killer will probably take Smith’s place on Texas‘ Death Row.

While responding to a domestic disturbance in the small town of Payne Springs, Texas, officers Paul Steven Habelt, 63, and Tony Price Ogburn, 61 were shot to death:

The gunman, Randall W. Mays, 47, was shot in the elbow and his side and was taken to a hospital, where he was in fair condition and awaiting surgery, McWilliams said. He was being guarded by sheriff’s deputies and has not been charged.Harris and Mays were taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. The deputy was out of surgery Thursday night to repair a broken leg, McWilliams said.

The officers were responding to a domestic disturbance when Mays opened fire with a high-powered rifle, McWilliams said. The officers were out in the open and tried to take cover, he said.

The uniformed deputy was wearing a bulletproof vest, “but that doesn’t protect you from a high-powered rife,” McWilliams said. It was unclear whether the plainclothes investigator was wearing a vest.

Mays’ next-door neighbor, Russell Hicks, said he witnessed the shootings. He said that Mays had a rifle and that two pistols were tucked into his belt.

It’s unfortunate that Mays what not shot to death by the officers. Now we’ll have a trial. He’ll be found guilty (because, you know, he is). He’ll most likely be sentenced to death. And after a few dozen appeals, he’ll probably be executed sometime around 2023.

He he yells loudly enough that he didn’t do it (despite numerous witnesses and evidence to the contrary), maybe he can get Susan Sarandon and Danny Glover to come visit him in prison.

This all could have been avoided if the officer who shot him in the side had just aimed a bit higher.

By 2023, he’ll have perfect teeth, be in great health/shape, have earned his masters degree in Criminal Justice, exhaust the judicial system, burden the tax-payers, date, marry, and find God.

Hater! [/sarcasm]

They say that men are fro mars and women from jupiter or something like that, anyway, still, we have this war going on between male and female. Like wise, the war between the legal system and people that are just damn tired of the dishonesty, the abuse, the excessive use of authourity, the lying ass bastards that make up our system who will destroy evidence, fabricate evidence, whatever it takes to put a man behind bars, well bottom line you take a poll and see how many have any faith in the system whatsoever. And then you have people like this dude that’s just finally fed up with it, I know I am. Cops are about like mechanics, finding an honest one that is professional under all circumstances, fair and unbiased is very very hard, almost impossible.

[Post deleted by Robbie --- making fun of cops killed in the line of duty is never funny, appropriate, nor allowed. Not here.]

Warren and Markus = two assholes.

hahah! KMA, I love your math!

And yet you guys actually SUPPORT the death penalty?

I just don’t get it. This jerk needs to be in a field picking potatoes or planting seed 18 hours a day 7 days a week for the rest of his life.

No, sorry, I keep forgetting, lets give him a sheltered accomodation and food and ask him to sit on his ass for 23 hours a day, all paid for by hard working tax payers.
Yeah, that seems like a much more sensible idea.

Hey, I feel like a redneck already!

Jonny

great comment jonny i agree with you and the money saved could be put to a good use i.e. helping those poor people in texas or treating the mentaly ill in texas

I’m willing to bet neither Jon nor Nats reside in Texas…

Allowing this animal to “sit on his ass in a cell for 23 hours a day” until his execution date arrives if just fine by me… see, this ensures nobody else is in danger, especially since we’re talking capital murder and all… us rednecks are funny that way.

I think a comprimise is in order. People like this should be made to pick potatoes or plant seeds 18 hours a day, 7 days a week until they have paid back (through manual labour) the equivalent that was needed to house them in jail. Once they make parity they should then recieve their execution date the day before it happens!

No, you definitely don’t get it. One, you can’t force prisoners to work. Two, you have no idea how dangerous these people really are. Calling you merely naive would be too kind.

I had never heard of this site but found it accidentally when looking up some infprmation on my Dad, Deputy Sheriff Tim Hudson, who killer, CHarles Edard Smith was executed in Huntsville in May 2007. I witnessed the execution and anyone out there who thinks that death by lethal injection is “cruel & unusal” has never seen one. This man did not suffer the way my Dad did the night in 1988 when this scum blew his chest out with a .357. He did not suffer the way Mother (and Tim’s wife of 40 years) did for 19 long years while my (and Your) tax dollars paid for this criminal education, medical care, meals…..My son wen tin the military in 1999 to help pay for his education, if he had gone to prison it would have been taken care of for him. What the hell is wrong with that picture. We take better care of our inmates in Texas than we do our Veterans and our elderly. If anyone wants to know how an execution really works, email me, I will be happy to explain it to you.
