State Sen. Mario Gallegos, (D-Houston) has written a sappy and void-of-facts article in the pro-illegal immigration Houston Chronicle:

Why right to vote, without an ID, is worth fighting for

But he then proceeds to not give us a single valid reason why the right to vote without proper ID is worth fighting for. Other than it might mean that some people would be less likely to vote.

Presumably (though Gallegos doesn’t actually say) because they don’t have an ID, and the burden of obtaining a free ID for these supposedly legal citizens is just too onerous.

Bullshit.

How the hell do these people — these supposedly legal citizens of the US — not already have some form of ID? It doesn’t have to be a Driver’s License, either. But how do they bank? Buy prescriptions? Rent a home? Get a job? Rent a movie? Buy a six pack of Tecate?

Especially the “elderly” that Gallegos is so concerned about. How did they get to be so old without obtaining any form of ID? Hell, a piece of mail from a US Government agency addressed to you is valid identification.

The truth is, Sen. Gallegos is only trying to protect one class of voter here: those who cannot legally obtain proper ID. Because they are not themselves legal.

I’ve never heard a valid reason for not requiring positive identification in order to vote in this country. And — for some odd reason (ahem…voter fraud…cough, cough) — the only ones arguing in favor of not requiring valid ID to vote are Democrats.

Here are the forms of ID that would be allowed in the proposed Texas Voter ID bill:

Otherwise, acceptable forms of identification would include a driver’s license or personal ID card issued by the Department of Public Safety or federal government; a passport; a U.S. military identification card with the person’s photograph; a valid employee identification card; an ID card issued by a state agency or institution, including a college in the United States; or a state-issued license to carry a concealed handgun.

Alternatively, voters could show two of forms of identification not required to have a photo. Options include a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter, ranging from court records of a person’s adoption, name or sex change to a library card or hunting or fishing license.

Without charge, individuals could obtain ID cards for voting purposes from the DPS.

Oh, and voters over the age of 80 are exempt. Sounds reasonable enough to me in an effort to ensure that our elections are fair and honest.

It’s not “cough cough” voter fraud. It’s out and out voter fraud proven when these illegal aliens get called in for jury duty in Texas and all around the country and of course, they are found out.

But, of course, these bums still cry discrimination, etc. I think the people of this country are proving they’re fed up with this crap from their supposed political representatives. I hope they throw the criminals committing this fraud out of this country and the corrupt politicians out of office.

…a six pack of Tecate?

heheheh!

Got something you want to say?
