The Pew Center for Research recently released the findings of a comprehensive survey about US Muslims, entitled Muslim Americans: Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream.
There are a lot of disturbing findings in the report — most of which are being seriously down played by the usual suspects in the MSM and the Left-o-sphere.
Findings such as:
25% of US Muslims under 30 support suicide bombings in some capacity. As a 26 year old American-Muslim, I am concerned about these findings.
I’m not sure how you can spin that in a good light — a quarter of all American Muslims believe that it’s OK to blow up innocent people. Which includes me. And you. I don’t care that 3 out of 4 don’t believe that. I’m much, much more concerned with the 1 in 4 who do.
Another interesting finding:
Only 40% of all US Muslims believe that Arabs carried out the 9/11 attacks.
Wow. Just wow. And they’re considered to be integrated and “mostly mainstream”?

One of the most honest and critical posts I’ve read in regards to the findings comes from the most surprising of places — The Huffington Post. Ali Etera, a young American Muslim, has a must read piece on the story:
Not only that, but a suicide bombing is not actually a “defensive” act at all. It is affirmative, assertive, offensive. It requires getting pissed off over something, standing up from the couch, planning, deliberating, and then finding access to those who have experience in helping you blow yourself up.
I look forward to his promised follow up.

Imagine if a survey came out that found that 1/4 of young Evangelical Christians supported suicide or homicide bombings to one extent or another. I somehow doubt the MSM would be running headlines about how “well-integrated” they were.
