One of the remarkable things about Graczyk’s writing is that you can’t determine his personal opinion on the death penalty from his reporting. I’ve read most of Mr. Graczyk’s reports on executions over the last 3-4 years, and I have no idea if he is for or against the death penalty.

So this morning I called the Washington D.C. office of my district’s Congressman, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-10th District of Texas) to find out if and how he voted.

A Congress that has a historically-low (and falling) 14% approval rating has voted for a bill that only 22% of American voters approve of.
It may not embarrass his victims, but it insults them. I’ll bet you that there is not so much as a chuckle when he delivers his punchline. Because there’s just nothing funny about any of this.
I’d like to think that Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert was reading, found something amusing, and recommended the link. Or even better, maybe it was Sarah Silverman.
