I thought that this post would have been my last on Cindy Sheehan. I should have known better.

In her “resignation” letter over at DailyKos, she wrote:

Camp Casey has served its purpose. It’s for sale. Anyone want to buy five beautiful acres in Crawford , Texas ? I will consider any reasonable offer. I hear George Bush will be moving out soon, too…which makes the property even more valuable.

Sheehan said that she plans to sell the land on eBay as early as next week with a starting bid of $80,000 (she paid $52,500 for the property last year).

Cindy has received a “reasonable” offer — from Move America Forward:

Move America Forward wants to place a monument to the troops on the site in Crawford, about 100 miles south of Fort Worth.

“There’s definitely symbolism behind being able to take that land and being able to put up a monument that supports our troops,” said Robert Dixon, executive director of the Sacramento-based group. “It’s purely symbolic. We’re not going to be holding any rallies there.”

I think a tribute to the troops would be perfect on this land. Read the comments section at the Kos — even the Kosites think that they should buy the land and build their own anti-war/dishonor-the-troops memorial.

Dixon said that after Sheehan’s announcement Monday, he was “flooded” with e-mails from Move America Forward members who thought the group should buy the land. The non-profit organization had planned to erect a monument to honor U.S. troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, possibly in Crawford, so “we figured this is the perfect thing to do,” Dixon said.

He said the group is “pretty much prepared to do what we have to do” to get the land but does have a price limit, which he declined to disclose. The group retained a California real estate agent to start working on the deal and also will start raising money, Dixon said.

Again…sounds like a reasonable offer is forthecoming from a group with honorable intentions.

But it turns out Sheehan — amongst other things — is also a liar:

“It’ll be a cold day in hell before she sells it to them,” her sister, Dede Miller, told The Associated Press. “She’ll sell it to them for $5 million.”

Sigh.

One Response to “Cindy Sheehan: A Quitter and a Liar”

I’m about to be really juvenile here, but I can’t stand the name Dede.

I don’t know if parents actually name their children that, or if it’s a nickname… but it needs to go away.

Got something you want to say?
