Pictures from the 2007 ROT Biker Rally

Another successful ROT Rally has come and gone. This one was the biggest of yet — but I’ll bet next year’s is even bigger.

On the down side, two bikers were killed this year. One was a hit and run accident on Sunday morning. The other involved a motorcycle running into a firetruck near the rally grounds on Friday.

Most people left their politics at home for the weekend (good idea). In fact the only real political messaging I saw all weekend was this small group shilling for Ron Paul on Friday night at the Biker Parade:

One of the things that I’m always amazed at during a bike rally is the number of people who own $50K–$100K dollar motorcycles. And these are usually not “daily ride” bikes, but rather custom bikes that are designed more for viewing than riding.

I noticed a lot more women riding their own bikes this year:

And then there were the women not content to ride on the back of the bike:

Of course there are always the girls in bikinis washing bikes:

And of course there were the women who chose to wear almost nothing at all.

Saturday night, just as the sun starts going down on the Rally grounds, a different sort of biker parade starts. This one isn’t quite as “family friendly” as the Friday night Biker Parade down Congress Ave.
